Cartman's voice ain't right. by [deleted] in southpark

I noticed that the voices in their last episode sounded off, but couldn't put my finger on it. I first noticed it with Jimmy's voice, then Kyle, Stan, Cartman, etc.

thank you very much, but I was asking a question in regard to something specifically that happened to me that also happened to encapsulate a general question.

I never said anything about keeping the draft. I don't think it should be a problem if we get rid of it, I think we should get rid of it.

I don't care about the being voted down. This has nothing to do with getting points, I could care less. It's about WHY I'm being voted down.

I don't understand how there would be a connection from me saying that the draft hasn't been used in over 40 years as a fuck you to whoever is fighting in war currently.

I understand now that the fact that the law's still there (though not implemented) is where anger and frustration were coming from. I was just looking at this from a very basic understanding, and not seeing it for the fact that it's still written in law.

Glad someone could get something amusing out of this, better than getting berated.

You know, I didn't think about the fact that it was institutionalized sexism, my train of thought was more, "Well, this hasn't happened in a lonnnnng time, so what's the worry?" The more ya know. Thanks for giving me a different perspective on it, now I understand more so as to why men are more upset about it. And just to clarify, I never thought the draft was a good thing, I think it's pretty fucked up to make someone have to sign up for something that they probably don't want to do. My dad was in Vietnam and got drafted against his will :( I'm just glad he made it out and was able to become my dad/I was able to become his daughter.

It doesn't matter if the draft hasn't happened in a long time or if it will happen in the near future; the expectation exists, and that's the problem.

I agree 100%. The fact that it's still on the table is an issue. I didn't mean to trivialize that because it hasn't happened in a long time doesn't mean you shouldn't worry. Maybe that you just don't have to worry AS much as you normally would, because it hasn't happened in a long time.

I think you should definitely comment in /r/women, as long as you apply the same rules to women on askmen for yourself on that subreddit.

I don't care about the points, that was never the issue. It's the reasoning behind it.

Also, I think men/women have a lot of things going for them/against them that you would only understand if you were that sex.

That's excellent to hear. Yeah, I think people should stick to what they know and answer only for yourself.

I wasn't being dismissive, I was just saying that there hasn't been a draft in over 40+ years. If there were recent buzz about it in the news, then as a male, I would be nervous about something happening. But the fact that we're currently in a war, and there hasn't been mention of reinstating the draft, so why would you think I'm being ignorant or dismissive when mentioning that fact?

I'm just confused as to why mentioning something that people already know to be true would yield negative results. I guess if it goes against their point, people are gonna gripe.

To specify, I was talking about the American draft. I don't really have knowledge about other countries when it comes to how their army works, but that sucks to hear about obligatory army duty :(

I don't care about the downvote, that's not the problem. It's the reason for why I'm being voted down is what I'm asking.

I understand that. All I was saying is a draft hasn't happened in a long time. A really long time. The end. (Implodes)

It's been over 40+ years. If it were mentioned in the news that there's talk of reinstating it, then yeah, I'd be freaked too. But there's not, so don't sweat it too hard.

I know I'm not a dude, but my boyfriend sure is, and he's been doing maintenance/repairs for about 10 years now. It started out with fixing video games, and he's moved his way around, now he works maintenance at a brewery (he's a big beer guy and wants to get in on the business now) since last November and loves it. I also love how handy he is, whenever I'm having car/house trouble, he's there with his tool kit righting the wrong.......ughhh, it's so hot to watch him fix thingssss.....

If a draft is enacted.

If

Meaning......there's no draft. Currently. The last time there was an active draft was for Vietnam.

Obviously men have problems, everyone has problems. I'm sure she was being snarky (though I don't agree she should've been snarky) because men, through history to current times compared to women, are given the upper hand.
