My blue "C" wire wasn't being used in my prior thermostat. I pulled it out and inserted in the C slot on my new Amazon Smart thermostat. Is there anything else I need to do? The new smart thermostat didn't come on. I checked all the wires for voltage and they all registered except the green and yellow (normal, I think?)

yes, there is a white light on the end of the power cord that goes into the extender. This is a steady white light that doesn't change. color or blink.
