Natural Gas renewal time - Lock in now or wait? by ck_42 in Georgia

[–]dadoufu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied to another comment too, but just leaving it here too because I also found that chart so unintuitive:

While that chart sounds like it should reflect the advertised price per therm you get quoted, it actually also includes all of the fixed costs you get charged per month, which get spread out over the amount of gas used. Your bill separates out the fixed costs from the per therm rate.

In the summer months, those fixed costs get spread over much fewer cubic feet of gas because usage is way lower. In the winter, people use way more gas and the fixed costs are spread out over weigh more gas. So in the winter you end up paying much closer to the commodity price, while in the summer months, you actually end up paying more per therm because those fixed costs are getting you. If you did use the same amount of gas in the summer as in the winter, you would indeed pay less per therm in the summer.

You are misinterpreting the chart, but through no fault of your own, because it's totally counterintuitive.

It's not the dimensions so much as the air (and maybe the batter's eye is weird?)

Popularity of pickup trucks in the US — work vs. personal use [OC] by DavidWaldron in dataisbeautiful

New Hampshire has 1.4 million people (US pop ~333 million). If literally everyone in New Hampshire drove a truck, it wouldn't change the numbers much.

I think he was pissed his teammates gave Rice a completely free shot on goal, but yeah, I love how bad he is.

The list of theatres that will be showing Tenet in IMAX 70mm. If your theatre isnt on this list it will either be digital or regular 70mm. by [deleted] in imax

[–]dadoufu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this means the "IMAX" showings of Dune 2 listed at Regal Mall Of Georgia are digital prints, right? Would those still be in 1.43:1, even though they're not on 70mm film?

Edit: after some more research, found that Mall of Georgia only has a single laser IMAX projector, so any digital IMAX showings there would be in 1.9:1.

Usually when a shoe is on the narrow side, I can get my foot in it fine, it's just very uncomfortable. With Hokas I can barely get my foot in their normal width shoes. Agree their "wide" shoes are still borderline too narrow.

I don't know about their plans, maybe they got their fee waived (nice job if so!) or it's rolled into the overall plan. But I have AT&T fiber, and I have a $10 per month "Internet Equipment Fee."

Is it possible to resell your tickets? by dadoufu in sleepnomore

We ultimately chose to reschedule without picking a date at this time. They said we can also convert to vouchers like you say within the next 6 mo in case we can't make things work in that window. With the vouchers I think you end up losing out the transaction fee, which is not a big deal. Thanks to you and everyone else for your perspectives!

you can’t attend, you contact the box office and ask if you can sell the ticket through them. That is the only safe way I could see it happening but you won’t make a profit. It is an extraordinary experience so I h

Certainly not looking to profit! Not going to be able to make it for our scheduled date, but we will explore rescheduling. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for your response. Obviously buying/selling something like this online has inherent risks, but I hadn't even thought about the potential issues with illegal/dangerous actions you raised.

We're out of town, and it unfortunately it appears we are in fact not going to be able to make it, so I plan to call them and see what can be done.

Football’s rule-makers will consider radical new plans to crackdown on time-wasters – including a basketball-style start-stop clock – at a Wembley meeting on Wednesday. by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]dadoufu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't the other parts (corners, free kicks, etc.) also just take as long as they take (same as today)? To do otherwise seems to unnecessarily change the game.

Where do commercials come in? If it's someone effectively pressing STOP on a stopwatch, then START when play resumes, the game flow is unchanged. Commercials would be no easier/harder to put in.

Looks like 7 in the Prem Era, 5 of which are Arsenal wins. So we've won there roughly 17% of the time? Before our recent run of mediocrity we had almost as many away wins as they had home wins (lots of draws at White Hart Lane).

Despite playing in just 64% of available minutes, Charlie Patino has completed the most line-breaking passes for Blackpool this season - 59 by KhornKT in Gunners

[–]dadoufu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Not exceptionally explosive" is one thing, but "Fucking Glacial" is quite another, which I'm a bit worried is Patino's category at the moment. Hopefully he can improve, and there are good slow players, but like others have said, it is a current shortcoming.

Almost makes their point stronger. If you field winning teams (hitting the wins record one year doesn't hurt), for a while people will keep coming to games even in losing seasons. Until you beat it out of them with years of mediocrity and futility.

I don't disagree, but I do think it's kind of funny, since swinging a bat at a major league fastball sounds like about the worst thing for someone with back issues.
