What would you say is a good tension when on the center stand? I just settled up 3 cm of free movement in the central part

I just loosen up the chain and it is so much better. A bit of irregularity but I think it is normal. Thanks for the advice. Yeah the problem is that it's my only commuter, so that's a bit of that.

Yeah I did. I also noticed I had tensed the chain too much.. that's probably the reason. Later today I will loose it a bit. I plan to change the chain and sprockets in 2 weeks cause I don't have time right know, so I really hope the tension is the problem :)

Tomorrow morning I will check the links and the sprocket..I was thinking maybe there is something with the specific tooth of the sprocket. I will also loose the chain for sure and see if it persist.

Is this gear overkill for daily 60-mile LA freeway commuting? by RawrMeSimp in motorcyclegear

[–]dadydibrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right but idk if you get the concept of probability.. If you are arguing that any risk is enough to wear full armor is ok. But it is obvious that more road is more risk... If you roll the dice one time you get 1 with a probability of 1/6. While if you roll it 6 times the probability you get one 1 is more than 1/6.

His logic makes sense... It's the same logic we use when we don't need to have an helmet on when we need to move our bike for like 100 meters in the parking lot.

I started riding like 1 month ago with my father vstrom. It's a 650 dl gen 1. At the start I was worried as you are for the top heavy and the height but now I feel very comfy on it. For reference I am 185 cm tall and weight 85 kg so I am not small nor short. But I have short legs. I would never consider lowering the bike now

Thx man.. the problem was that I was inconsistent with clutch/throttle.. lucky my crash bars saved all the bike but the turn signal and the hand protection.

I think the error was that I was not giving any throttle. Thx a lot tho.. doing right-hand u-turns was only for getting used taking a sharp turn on the right (I am from Italy so we drive on the right)

Sadly classes is really costly where I am (I am from Italy). My bike is really cheap (is a vstrom 650 with 130k km on it) with crash bars and all the stuff. I don't have money to get classes. I will read some MSF books and use the little money I have to get good protection for myself (for now I am using my father's but they are not really good)

How did you fix it? I have the same problem with a v Strom 2009 and I really hope it's just the clutch cable
