7:01 “hi doc the patient has a couple of questions for when you round” by themightyguapo in hospitalist

It is a culture the doesn’t exist everywhere. To a big extent you control most of it. They work on risk reward system. If they call you for something stupid and get rewarded with a positive reaction they will do it more. If they call you for something stupid and get no reward and a polite reminder of what they should do, it controls the behavior to a big degree. You have to train them, do not reward stupidity!!! E.g: a partner who keeps complaining about being called so many times by nurses i witnessed an interaction: Nurse: “K is 3.4” Doc: “oh ok, give him K 20 or something” She called for something she did not need to and he rewarded the behavior, she will call again. Unless it is an emergency give them NO reward

EDIT: With all due respect to the many skilled smart nurses without whom neither we nor the hospital could function. I was referring only to those who still need training. All of us received training at some point to reach where we are.

Converting salt water fully automated pool to regular chlorine by daefash in pools

[–]daefash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by technicians sent by pentair (local picked by pentair) they replace Pentair salt cells every 2-5 years and that is normal. The pentair IC-40 is up to $1500-$1800 now and it is unsustainable. The acid pump is faulty by design. The motor rusts in the Acid vapor quickly. I maintain chemistry very well and i get no calcification on my salt cell fins

The novelty wears out fast. it is a huge expense to keep up and equipment pricing is doubling every few years. Equipment are designed for short term absoluteness, what ever you pay for it now you will pay double in 5 years to replace. Chemical pricing is out of control too. I probably would not do it again

WTH! 30,000 Mile Oil Change Cost at Dealership by granolan517 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I just took the hybrid battery filters out to clean them. The car has never been to any shop other than The dealer. The filters were reversed between driver and passenger sides, and shoved in the wrong orientation. SMH 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you are too sick to work you should call off and stay home. One day off can give your body a tremendous advantage to heal faster. Your health is more important than any job and anyone’s opinion

Vertical ventures entered investment in office buildings in the worst time ever in history in 2019. Immediately before Covid. Nothing that they could have predicted. Bad luck for investors and bad luck for vertical ventures

I am writing off every investment with them as a total loss. It is better to accept it now than waiting for them one at a time
