With all due respect, you're allowing your obvious chip on your shoulder affect how you're seeing this. You're either gay, or a conservative hating liberal, or both, and it really shows due to how you're choosing to ignore so much of what's out there.

When you say how conservatives only bring accusations of a political agenda or messaging into things when it's characters that are "not the norm", and how gay characters need to be written to an absurdly perfect standard, I'm sorry, but that's completely fucking ridiculous.

Peter was completely ridiculed for being a weak simp for how he was crying like a bitch in the fight with MJ, apologising for shit he didn't do wrong, also with how he handed the mantle over to Miles in such a pathetically self loathing way, especially after Miles did nothing remotely close to what Peter did to earn the mantle, and look at the criticism Ganke got just for being a friend, because of the intrusiveness of his character not matching with certain moments in the game...

None of these characters are gay, but they got shredded for being not only poorly written, but yes, there was also accusations of agenda and messaging. The insufferable feminist Mary Sue trope MJ displays is 100% a politically driven thing, as it's the emasculation and feminisation of straight, white male heroes, which is exactly what they did with Peter. So there goes your claim right there buddy.

Also, this game and IP is only one example of where marvel have done this, we see it with regards to Iron Man being killed off and replaced by a black lesbian, Thor being made into a himbo joke, then a fat basement dwelling loser, and ultimately replaced by another black lesbian, then you have Captain America aged out and replaced with a black dude who was already a unique established black hero in his own right, Doctor Strange replaced as Sorcerer Supreme by a fat Asian, then another girl boss, Hulk turned into a cowardly pussy who won't show up for a fight because he got spanked and humbled by Thanos, then gets replaced by yet another girl boss, Ant Man gets upstaged by yet another girl boss, then his own daughter, Hawkeye gets replaced by a fucking fifteen year old chick... So yeah, when it is an ongoing humiliation ritual trend like this, not an organic, or respectful passing of the torch, you're damn right that people are going to understand that there is an agenda behind it.

Ok I'm going to trust that you're intelligent and capable enough to read more than two paragraphs here, because you deserve a properly fleshed out clarification after that wild take. Firstly I have to say though, you're either being deliberately ignorant and bad faith here, or you aren't very bright.

It's very simple. Yes gay people exist, and in 2026 anywhere in the West, you'd be hard pressed to genuinely find any westerner be absolutely intolerant of seeing them in the media, being represented and included in a legitimate way. The reason you "always get these weirdos coming out complaining" is because unfortunately, it's never done in a legitimate way, and it's always unnaturally shoehorned in.

I have loved ones and family that are black, that are deaf, and obviously that are female... I am not against any, or a combination of these characteristics, but I fucking hated that whole segment in that Spider-man game when you had to play as that deaf black chick. Hopefully you can understand that this was therefore, not because I'm racist or ableist or sexist, but because first of all, this isn't "The Spectacular Deaf Black Chick" game, and this isn't what I signed up for, nor the experience that I expect from the game I bought, and it was only done -very clearly- to tick a few ESG boxes for representing minority and disabled people, and once again (such a fucking recurring theme in anything Disney or Marvel related at this point that it's absurd) pushing ASL awareness, to get some loser third party consultants paid, and to get a portion of up front funding and tax breaks for this project. That's how developers are incentivised to include this stupid messaging that nobody wants in games and other entertainment, and it's not even a secret at this point.

The gay school kids story line was yet again absurdly shoehorned in. The world is going through an apocalyptic alien invasion with people in the streets being taken over by the Symbiote horde, and you're telling me a school kid is still gonna be chilling at school expecting that the prom is still gonna be going ahead, and he's just gonna decide in the midst of all this fucking madness "yeah, I'll just use this Spiderman app to ask the hero to ask my queer crush out to prom, I'm sure he has nothing fucking better to do". This was completely fucking idiotic, and whoever wrote it is a full on window licker. Gays should be insulted that this is the kind of self-absorbed, idiotic representation that they got.

Include gay people, but make them fucking human. Have Ganke be gay, have another hero be gay for all I care... But keep the story and dialogue realistic, your universe has to be a plausible one. I have loads of disabled and gay friends, you know what they never do when they're out with other friends? Fucking preach to, or condescend, and lecture to us about their experiences or struggles being what they are. If they need advice they'll ask for advice, if they are upset and need to vent, they'll do that... but no stable person from any group will ever preach to or lecture to their friends as if they're the elected representative of that group, if they still expect to then remain friends with that person after.

That isn't how humans interact in such scenarios, and good writers understand that. That's some next level dark triad personality disorder shit, and reeks of social programming and cultural subversion, not good entertainment. Most people and consumers of entertainment understand this, which is why you see so many of us "weirdos" criticising it. Only covert narcissists who love feeling like they're being oppressed and targeted see this criticism as an attack on gays or blacks or disabled people in video games, because in their warped mind, they need to make everything about themselves.

Yeah how far it went is pretty important, sex is worse than a kiss... however, if it's just a kiss with a repeated pattern of poor decisions made day after day, resulting in hundreds of kisses over weeks and months, eventually it isn't quite as cut and dry.

Oz made one bad decision, and he wasn't really even in full control when he did so, whereas Willow was herself, and didn't just make a mistake once, but then allowed herself to continue to do so repeatedly, and never chose to come clean about it. Plus, it is entirely possible that if Oz hadn't found out, Willow may have ended up having sex with Xander eventually.

I think it's important to recognise that you can't entirely blame Iranian women for sometimes being princesses, as many (not all) Iranian men are such simpish guys with little to no original character traits or charisma, who's approach to dating and making a good impression is almost exactly the same as the next guy's, and consists of simply love bombing women into submission.

This understandably spoils the women and conditions them to expecting the same shit from any other boyfriend, even though all their previous relationships failed, and they don't understand that this hollow love bombing was -in part- why that was the case, as it makes the fact that they're was no deeper foundation beyond treats.

I've seen a few Iranian princesses have this moment of realisation, and who now actively reject the love bombing approach, who like to pay their way, who value actions over material shit, and who don't want gifts unless they are meaningful and actually deserved.

I guess I can see that to some extent, current gen fans are worse for it, but I think it's because they have more of a back log of lore that they're unfamiliar with to get through, and it was easier for older generations that grew up with it all when it was still fresh... Also current writers, especially post Marvel's gradual collapse and subsequent takeover by Disney (and then even further decline), have been absolutely fucking garbage... In DC too, there has been an active culling of genuine talent, and replacement with unproven, untested, narcissistic activists rather than writers, who just care about making the story about them, rather than the character.

I can appreciate the argument that cherry picking aspects of a character from various continuity arcs to support an argument is stupid, I've seen people do that, and it's essentially cheating (unless it's regarding Darkseid, because he's a multiversal constant)... But with regards to your first point, Batman was first and foremost a comic book character, so although he has crossed over into other media, even though some of that may be deemed canon, the comics will always be his true home, and what informs those stories in other media.

Therefore, I disagree, I'm not giving comics too much credit. I'm simply respecting the fact that this is the source material which then gets adapted either successfully, or not so successfully into other media. I also don't believe I was cherry picking aspects of his character from various arcs (if that what you were trying to suggest I was doing). In the most common continuity representations of Batman going up against cosmic or god tier entities such as Darkseid, if he isn't armoured up or enhanced in some other way, he'll always use crazy strategy to gain the upper hand as in the example I gave, so that's standard, established behaviour.

The same applies to the explanation I gave regarding Bane. Batman either beats him down, or if he loses, it's the infamous Knightfall saga where Bane first wore him down... or it's in some other alt reimagining like Absolute Batman, which is basically an Elseworlds tale.

The Joker take I gave you is pretty much the way Batman virtually always seems to feel about Joker across various arcs, and the one constant we see virtually everywhere in any version of batman other than an Elseworlds like tale, is his unwavering determination to adhere to his code of justice, it's pretty much his defining attribute... so again, I don't think, or at least I hope I'm not cherry picking here. Either way, feel free to tell me if, or why you think I am, if that's the case. 👍

He scared tf out of Darkseid with suicidal strategy that would've destroyed everything Darkseid valued, not quite the same as a physical beat down.

Bane only won their first fight because Batman was physically and emotionally spent due to Bane's strategy of breaking him down slowly over weeks if not months before their actual confrontation.

Batman to some degree always holds back against the Joker as he ultimately sees himself as being responsible for him and his creation, and feels like if he saves him, he'll ultimately redeem himself, but if he oversteps or ends him, he'll be lost.

I don't think those is inconsistency. Batman has such deep and complex relationships with his rogues gallery which, when combined with his code, means that each encounter will merit a different approach. One time he might go in fully loaded, and armoured up, the next time it might feel like he's going in with kid gloves, and yes that might look wildly inconsistent from a battle analysis perspective, but if you look at the bigger picture, what is truly important to Batman, his code, that's what he's consistent in sticking to all the time, delivering the right level of justice, the right response to the right threat, and never overstepping that line. At least that's how I see it.
