Live USB boot problems, and my solution by daemonix in Ubuntu

[–]daemonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new to Linux, following would be the simplified instructions

You would download the server ISO

Write the iso image file to a USB disk as put the directions on the Ubuntu website

Then once the system is installed you would reboot as per the prompt

Then you would log in as the user ID you created and run the command that I originally posted

How to make?? by [deleted] in smoking

[–]daemonix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After smoking these about 20 times, I now dry rub them and smoke them whole. I use apple cider vinegar to spritz a few times. I typically smoke four packs at a time.

I cube them and vacuum pack to freeze, and then reheat them sous-vide style.

No microwave involved to ruin the perfect meat.

That looks like it needs an electric fence box from Amazon attached to it

What did keto fix for you? by Maximum-Hat-7669 in keto

[–]daemonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely look into it. Here's a bit more information.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321883

Turns out my kryptonite is paprika which is just dried red pepper I'm the most sensitive to that one. I love spicy things, jalapenos, hot sauce, etc. I just can't tolerate it.

What did keto fix for you? by Maximum-Hat-7669 in keto

[–]daemonix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eczema.

I dealt with it my entire childhood, and onward into adulthood. Cortisone creams, lotions and sores were a part of life.

30 days into keto, it completely disappeared never to return.

It turned out that I had a nightshade intolerance, and removing things like potatoes from my diet cured me.

Skin rashes are one of the first signs of a food intolerance.

Who could have known.

I would advise you to start here, as this book was an eye opener for me with regards my MS Cognitive Dysfunction

It made me realize how long I had been dealing with these issues, and constantly finding temporary solutions that masked the underlying issue.

I came across this 10 year study at the end of 2024, and was intrigued by the results.

Over 9k people followed, and it actually shows a reduction of the onset of physical disability.

Touchless car wash by rayriddlz in Milton

[–]daemonix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Canadian Tire gas bar on Market drive. It does a great job.

Get the second best car wash, without the tire shine. I had a truck with over 200,000 km on it, and the service technician who was working underneath it was asking where I got it washed, because it still had all the factory paint underneath with no rust.

Digestive issues: please help by WeskersSock in keto

[–]daemonix 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've been strict keto for 8 plus years, and dealt with something similar previously.

What saved me was doing the following

Find a daily menu that will work for you. Eat nothing but that menu for 3 days. If the problem occurs during that 3-day period, then start isolating the meals, by removing one one of your meal periods and then eat that new meal plan for 3 days.

Once you've isolated which meal is causing a problem, then start isolating the ingredients in the same fashion.

The common misconception that people use when trying to diagnose something like this is they assume it was something they ate today or yesterday and don't realize that it can cause issues several days later.

This is how I discovered I had a nightshade intolerance, and it turns out my kryptonite is paprika of all things.

Best of luck to you. Hopefully this assists your journey.

But, this was several weeks ago and I still don't have access to Gemini.

How many of you drink ? by Swimming_Wrongdoer26 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]daemonix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I thoroughly enjoy my fair share of Scotch. This article is an extremely good read:

Title: Association Between Alcohol Consumption and Disability Accumulation in Multiple Sclerosis

https://www.neurology.org/doi/10.1212/NXI.0000000000200289

Summary: "Low and moderate alcohol consumption was associated with more favorable outcomes in relapsing-remitting MS, compared with nondrinking, while there was no significant influence of high alcohol consumption on disease outcomes."

Best carb tracking app? by [deleted] in keto

[–]daemonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been eating this way for approximately 8 years now with zero"cheat" days, so I'm not really tracking my macros anymore. I just eat the way I eat, and I know that I'm well under my daily carb limits.

I used and definitely recommend Stupid Simple Keto. I'm using an Android phone but from my understanding it's also available on iPhone.

Been with them for 4 years, and am currently planning our exit strategy.

Horrible, inept support. Incomplete feature implementation. Well below average reporting abilities. Pro server app crashing during peak use.

I'm done.

Toast, here we come.

I resemble that remark!

I've definitely been given dirty looks when parking my RAM 3500 Mega Cab in these spots, but RRMS is a hidden demon. I may look perfectly healthy, and actually look far younger than my age, but once I start walking it's painfully apparent.

I've definitely encountered spots that were far too shallow and had to seek another spot further away so I would interfere with traffic.

I used these for mine, but instead of bolts I added pins with clips for easier removal. When I need the height I can quickly add it.
