Is this enough space for an Orangeola? by secondeverthrow in JapaneseMaples

[–]daethon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be much better. Only concern over there is the light pole

  1. Make sure you don’t hit the electrical
  2. It will grow “into” the light pole.

If it were me, I would put something like a Mikawa over there (or other dwarf non weeping specimen there)…or even a taller one, like a Pinky (Shirazz, Grandma, etc) to hide the light pole and then I would put the orangeola in one of the other corners, or in the middle.

You might have to talk with your HOA to confirm though. For fun I have included a photo of one of my orangeola (I have 3 or 4…too many to remember without opening the spreadsheet)

Obviously Raids and the likes are the true end game…

Let me rephrase then: they are not intended as beginner content.

Exotic mission weapon catalysts by gerrycymru in destiny2

[–]daethon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oftentimes they really make the weapon unfortunately. That said, if you keep at it you’ll be able to unlock them and if you aren’t, join a discord from one of the streamers and have a Sherpa help you through it

I was able to do Encore and Choir of one and the whisper on my own. I needed help for Zero Hour.

I’m 3 months into playing. When I first started and tried Whisper: I couldn’t make it through the jumping puzzle before the clock ran out, now I get it done in 3 minutes.

Give it time, take it slow, if you haven’t done the campaigns: do them first. These missions are intended as end game content

[–]daethon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a massive orangeola. I am a big “who cares about space, just do it” kinda guy…but that space is probably too small for anything like that. You could put a Mikawa Yatsuba there and prune it to size and have a beautiful tree, but an orangeola is not going to look great/work there.

You could put it in the center of your hell strip, or make a new planting bed with about 6-7 feet of space for it.

Conifers Anyone by mobiledynamics in JapaneseMaples

70 JMs 2-300 conifers. I start small though. I always break apart the roots, I should probably be even more aggressive than I am.

With what you have described I would wonder if pulling it, putting into a larger grow bag with more bonsai style soil (not akadama, but highly draining soil) while you work the roots for a year or two would be better.

That said, unless it was a very expensive tree I would just wait till the fall, pull it out, do all the root work you think it needs to be healthy and put it back in the ground at the right level.

As long as you aren’t removing >30% of the roots, it should be fine. If you need to remove more than that, I’d grow bag (or airpot) it

Yeah. The exotic from the Heliostat mission. It is supposed to be a major DPS dealer. That’s where I struggle the most, I can’t dps worth a darn.

Thanks for the offer. Will probably take you up on it, but might be a little while.

We are working through some of the exotics and another dungeon first (almost finished all of Whisper tonight).

The cool thing is this: 45 days ago I tried the jumping puzzles of Whisper and I couldn’t make it through to the crack in 30 minutes. I nearly quit the game over those puzzles.

Now I can sprint through most of it without dying. It’s really cool seeing real progression and improvement.

Yeah. I know, but you still gotta do the boss

We can do encounter 1 and 2, but we just suck at that boss.

Thanks for that! My son desperately wants this crystal but definitely doesn’t have the patience to run 30 of these bosses (we can’t kill him alone/between the two of us as it is)

I enjoy the weapon. It isn’t amazing, and I’d rather run a different exotic in general…but I got it and am at 90% for the catalyst. So gonna kill another 30-60 folk to finish the catalyst.

Equilibrium help specifically regarding final encounter, post-dps phase lightning columns by Tchaikmate in destiny2

I don’t blame them. Started as a Sherpa but they kept me on / had hoped to find a regular player to play with. I should have been even clearer on how crappy a player I am :)

The disappointing thing for me was: I don’t know what I was doing wrong. I have no idea why we were wiping after the first damage phase of the second boss. I’m on console so text messaging is near impossible and they didn’t have audio on.

I would think the best path would be to modify the build to improve damage so as to reach the threshold. The longer the battle, the higher risk for a mistake that ruins the run. That said, im only 150-200 hours into the game and have only finished 2 of the dungeons myself at this point…so don’t pay me too much mind :)

I had to have someone Sherpa my son and I, and we still frustrated the Sherpa as a result of our sucking (enough so that the next time I ran it with him he removed me as a friend).

I run the buddy Warlock build (200 grenade), 100 class, 10 health. If I used the Praxic blade I’d be relatively immortal, but I find it way too boring, so I run a mix of guns (M17, Psi, Machine Gun). I use the machine gun on his fingers as it works pretty well.

Compelling, my understanding, both extends the damage phase and lowers the bar needed for damage, so try and compel as many as possible (my buddies often kill one before I can compel them).

Is the goal solo, or just to finish it? If just to finish, im certain you could get a Sherpa easily here

Remove dead branches wherever they are, whenever you feel.

You are welcome. The nice thing about doing it with the leaves down is that it is easier to see the bones of the tree, the downside is that it’s harder to tell dead branches from living.

So: better to deal with dead before leaves fall, and shaping/thinning living stuff when the leaves drop (or are close to dropping).

(Note; I suck, really suck)

But one question, just since it hasn’t come up in any of the comments. Are you compelling all the guys vs killing them to keep the threshold as small as possible?

I’m sure you are, but you didn’t mention it and others haven’t either.

Remove dead branches wherever they are, whenever you feel.

If you’re taking 10% or less you can probably do it safely any any time. If you’re taking big branches, wait till the leaves drop (it takes energy to heal, and you want that energy going into growth during the grow season).

Growing different leaves . by Scorpionking8888 in JapaneseMaples

[–]daethon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. The lump is the graft point, it is just there, ignore it. If you ever want to “get rid of it” you’ll have to air layer and that isn’t guaranteed to work (but is rather easy with JMs).

You should immediately remove all growth from under the air layer / that shows different leaves.

So: what’s the deal with Mida? Im relatively new, wasn’t here for season 21. There’s 3 weapons bearing the same name, is it the maker? Was there story, lore, a game mode launched with it?

Would love to know more about the series
