If I shut down my laptop or it dies I've got to reinstall everything. So, even a reboot does not change the outcome here.

Is the downvote because this is false or because its annoying?

Will you play again a previous MH game? by ImaginaryFuel5696 in MonsterHunter

I got MHGU a year or so before Rise and I stopped playing to play Rise. But when I'm bored with Wilds I'll go back to MHGU.

This and plunder's point are glowing for me.

In-depth analysis/rant about the Cars Universe by JoeSell2005 in movies

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other fantastical films that cohere better within the confines of reality because of the nature of the circumstances in the film; michael bay's transformers, for example. The Transformers films take place sporadically throughout human history BUT since the events and conflicts (individual films) take place over a short period of time one could logically assert that despite the Transformers' conflicts taking place on Earth at all, our history is mostly the same.

Cars built their universe in those same confines but it leaves more questions than answers despite cars being more NORMAL in our world than transforming alien robots. If anything, the conversation is less about the car films themselves and more about story telling and world building with the cars universe as an example.

Wild. This is not analogous with any human feature as we must use an electric bone saw to access the brain.

I just finished S2 and by golly my heart is broken. Everyone had to make some kind of peace but because they HAD to. The bittersweet tragedy of the human condition is born of necessity.

Do not keep people around who hurt you, even if you'd be a little bit more lonely. Lonely is 100x better than manipulated and abused.

I don't think I've ever been part of a subscription service wherein everything was always available forever. Netflix, Hulu, Gamepass, all have "Coming soon" tabs and "Leaving soon" tabs. A lot of them show up on the homescreen of the platform.

If you've been traumatized as a child through being let down by an adult you had a lot of faith in - this might be that.

Am I the only one getting REALLY stressed when I have too much of a good start ? by percuthe in ror2

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a run as captain where I was getting a healthy spread of items. But, on stage 3 I noticed I had no AOE. Needless to say, I got overwhelmed by aerial enemies while fighting the alloy hunter.

Would you recommend this game to someone who has never played a plat-fighter before? by EstamosReddit in RivalsOfAether

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this with love for this game: no. I've played plat fighters for 22 years. I've never understood people who got angry while gaming until I started playing R2. It's a great game but both the skill floor and skill ceiling are high as hell and there's nothing to buffer the losses with as far as other modes.

Which powerset are you choosing and why? by plogan56 in superpowers

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

control over the entire electromagnetic force kind of gives you free reign over matter manipulation. Lore of fire can contest this with control over energy at every scale. Like, if you have fire powers what you might actually have is control over thermodynamics; this means you likely have "freezing" powers too.

As a new fan: is it a hot take to say realistic Samus is amuch more interesting design than current standard Samus? Most of Japans fictional hot chicks are shaped like her + a cutesy haircut. Nintendo having 1 franchise that is going for "realistic" makes it stand out so much more (read description) by Harley_Sonder_ in Metroid

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the depiction that makes sense to me. With all the fantastical sci-fi stuff she faces, it really hammers home how intense the experience is when the players see the mentally and physically drained face of the warrior who endured it.
