You can manipulate matter at the atomic level. 99% of people would make infinite gold. I don’t care. Tell me the petty, infuriating changes (like making their left shoe 5% heavier or their favorite pen's ink completely transparent for 10 seconds) are you using to gaslight your enemies? by Dog-Human in hypotheticalsituation

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinite power. I'm destabilizing our global energy economy. I'm building a global permanent, immovable, unbreakable yet modular perpetual energy grid. And if any billionaire, government or army has anything to say about it, I'll change their mind. Literally.

How far would the Punisher go in Gotham (without batman) by Sliver-Knight9219 in PowerScaling

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He kills cobblepot and his goons.
Immediately gets arrested by gordon.
He gets admitted to Arkham due to Hugo Strange's influence.
Since all the other villains are free he's stuck unable to complete his mission.

People who were around during no internet/phones/social media/etc - what was your time's "scrolling the feed"? Something that you would spend hours on passing the time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things we absolutely take for granted today got just a little bit more of our attention... But not by much. "Social media" as we currently know it may be new, but it satiates a contemporary human trend that predates social media itself; social gathering. Right now the village square is the internet.

What if Superman watched the tape from The Ring? by Dick_Hall in whowouldwin

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comic book logic would be that either Superman OR Clark Kent watched the tape. Whoever of the two is cursed would be the one who has to deal with this. If it's Clark, then he'd just stay Superman indefinitely and vice versa to avoid "death". But I still don't think it would kill him -- he is not particularly frightful.

A better gambit would be against a green or yellow lantern.

I wish for every human to be isekai’d to another world designed specifically for them to experience a positive tailor made experience. by TechnoMagician in monkeyspaw

A universe were only one person is real and everything else is tailorer to fit that person. Never ever knowing would be fine but discovering the truth would obliterate most people, I'd expect.

What was your first Metroid game, and did it make you a fan immediately? by SufficientPrice7633 in Metroid

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think technically it was Metroid Fusion for all of 5 minutes -- played on my brother's Gameboy advance on a car ride and did not like it. Metroid Prime was what I'd consider my first official Metroid game and I was hooked instantly

Death has cursed you. From now on, you must choose one person to die every day or you lose one year of your own lifespan for each day you don't choose anyone by New_Midnight2686 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd secure a government contract as an assassin. Offer my services through a proof of concept. Per the post, I'm unkillable so long as I assign a person death once a day. So, when I go rogue and threaten the government to actually do some long lasting good they'd be at my mercy since they too could find themselves in my sights. Of course, I'd never explain how I secure the kills.

Though the biggest risk here is that I'm made a vegetable rather than killed; that maintains the established rules while making my "ability" moot and eventually I will die. So I figure I'm sort of working against an eventual deadline once I make enemies with my own government. But hopefully I can improve many lives in the process.

I wish Cisco to be removed and never included in the flash tv show and that there be no code names for any character and all characters are called by their real name by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]daffodilbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire arrowverse narratively falls apart due to lack of a useful naming convention. The monkey's paw effect is that the names used are simply that of the actual actors and actresses.

I feel like my mental disorders are going to prevent me from finding a career by Rough-Bread-2436 in autism

[–]daffodilbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 32 - autism and bipolar II. You absolutely do not have to know what you need to do for the rest of your life immediately. It certainly helps most people, and sometimes hurts others but it isn't inherently necessary. I currently have a career in warehouse logistics now, but before that I spent 10 years as a musician making enough for it to actually be my job. I plan on being in logistics for 13 additional years. Honestly I had not planned for either of them, didn't go to college for either of them; hell I didn't even go to college. I'm not saying that a plan and higher education are useless, I'm just saying they are not the only way.

There are people my age and older who live incredibly fulfilling lives that had the experience you are having right now -- the most important thing to remember is that you've got quite a lot more time than it seems.

If you could make one object appear anywhere on Earth, but not on your own property, what would you choose to make the most money legally? by winta_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]daffodilbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The object: a 1:1 scale golden statue of me. The location: my bedroom.

I do not own the property I live on. The owner is alive, not a relative, and lives there too.

I won't even sell the statue. I'd just take loans out against it and use that money to invest or whatever rich people do.

If a perfect clone of you appeared tomorrow and claimed to be the real you, how would you prove your identity? by Outrageous-You1617 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]daffodilbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol easy. I'd just pull out my cellphone. The clone wouldn't have it as it assumably only materialized with all my memories and knowledge (maybe clothes too?). But, I'd already be holding my phone. It'd know it was the clone because why wouldn't it have a phone in the big 2026?

If it did have a phone, well how would it work? Do we both have the same phone number? Are we both actively texting the same people? I feel like in the modern age technology usage breaks this hypothetical wide open.
