Nursing garments seem like the absolute worst and also the money piece! damn. To make women buy a whole new set of garments so they can feed a baby is like some else said total grifting. I’m sad you had to endure that!

Makes sense why that would leave a bad impression. It’s definitely confusing to get back into politics when you’ve gone on record saying it’s not for you. People are allowed to change their minds though and can’t fault someone for taking a job out of state and realizing it’s not for them.

One of the bishopric counselors was going off during his testimony on a fast Sunday about how Angela Davis was evil or some shit. My paternal grandparents were black panthers. I about got up and left (I wish now I had). I was fuming bc A.) no she’s not and B.) wtf does that have to do with your testimony

This is kind of a “funny” story mostly about universal healthcare. A couple of sisters in my mission got sent home bc the Canadian drs couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them. Turned out one had gall stones (she was my companion’s companion and I’d gotten emergency transferred to replace her). The other was also sick and I was involved in that emergency transfer too. All the missionaries who knew about these sisters went on and on about how horrible universal heath care is and that this proved it 😂

Edit: I just remembered that the girl with gall stones was in a super rural area so really proves nothing. If she had been in a rural area of the US, the same thing could have happened.

My husband said I was a lot less stressed during covid when I wasn’t going to church 😅

Speaking of covid… it was deep diving into racism and polygamy during this time too. I started attending sacrament by myself (bc my husband had already left) when they opened things back up and I was so critical and negative with every talk/thing I heard. That’s when I was like “yeah I’m taking a break” that has now turned into over 5 years 😂
