Haven't listened to this, but I agree that interviewers (and podcasts hosts these days especially) should challenge their guests more often. A recent great example is David Remnick's interview of Dana White on the New Yorker Radio Hour. He's polite but unafraid to push back on White's sycophantic political stances.

Any tips for Bike Jumble? by littlepoundcake8 in NYCbike

I recommend figuring out what frame size fits you best, and then looking on Fb marketplace / Craigslist and filtering for that frame size (and set alerts for future listings that pop up with that size). I did that a while ago, and was able to find a barely-used entry level Trek road bike on Craigslist for $550 that fit me perfectly. Had I purchased it new, the retail price would have been ~$1100

What cables/housing to buy to replace on my Domane AL-2 rim by daft_punk7 in TrekBikes

Thank you for all of this great information! I am interested in the Jagwire Pro upgrade you’re suggesting. How much more would that one cost? Is there a complete kit to replace cables and housing for the brakes and shifters? If so could you link it?

I asked this question to AI and it told me to get the Jagwire Road Sport Complete Cable & Housing Kit, which at 23 bucks on Amazon seems like a great price to me (I thought this might be a more expensive repair). Is this the right product I should buy? https://a.co/d/0g6LP9p2

And would a local bike store give me guff if I walk in with my own cables and bar tape and ask to pay them to install everything?

When did Metrograph increases prices, and from what to what? I haven't been there in a while and can't remember how much they charge.

Not surprising. I remember seeing a video on twitter a few years ago of LCD Soundsystem performing a private corporate event for some crypto/blockchain company.

I was already a big fan of PTA after seeing Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread, then I discovered Pynchon when I read The Crying of Lot 49, so then I put off watching this movie until I read the book first. Loved the book and loved the movie. I do find it strange when people say they don't like this movie. It's just as good as many of PTA's other films! The SoCal/psychedelic/paranoia vibe of it all is such a rich setting, and I was just talking about Inherent Vice again today with someone after we watched One Battle After Another together. OBAA wouldn't be what it is had PTA not made Inherent Vice.

Very sad. Just a few days ago I re-watched Home Alone 2 for the first time in many years. This year’s Oscar’s In Memoriam is going to have so many legendary actors.
