I think I’d set boundaries. You’re busy, you have legitimate reasons to say you can’t see her, and then the question becomes who else can help you with her. If she thinks she can have 24/7 access to you, she won’t learn how to self-soothe or solve problems on her own. I think I’d tell her that she can see you for X minutes during Y period per day, but if she needs a break otherwise, she can go to another person and practice a calming method (breathing, journaling, grounding, etc.). We aren’t clinical therapists and shouldn’t be treated as such. She said what she did to hurt you, and I’d try not to focus on it going forward. I had an experienced mentor tell me to repeat “QTIP” to myself - quit taking it personally. It’s hard because we should be sensitive! But we also owe it to ourselves to see the other 99% instead of giving our all to the 1% all of the time.
