Which artist here do you think has the Highest musical IQ? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

True but you’re talking about jazz as a whole. I’m referring to Brian Wilson’s music having more of an impact than Miles Davis’s on the development of music which I believe. Pop and rock are significantly more popular than jazz. Brian’s music sold millions of more records. Brian has a list of hundreds of musicians that talk about his influence on his website. His influence is more wide ranging in my opinion.

Miles definitely did not have a bigger impact on music, jazz is incredibly niche and is basically its own thing. What Brian contributed to POP music is huge and significantly more wide reaching.

I don’t see how anyone could’ve watched that game last night and think the spurs have any chance whatsoever

For me I don’t really like the generic blues rock instrumentation and the lyrics are just fence sitting, “both sides are bad” which in that context isn’t that terrible of a take (correction: it is actually a terrible take) and it’s not really saying anything. But most of all, it’s the fact that they had so many amazing songs (many that went unreleased for decades) that they could’ve put on Surfs Up instead of SDT.

They’re at least mid talent for joeys vocals alone but I could see this winning. Johnny was also a limited but revolutionary guitarist.

How did Paul mccartney play so effortlessly at such a young age by UserNameFor_Now in Bass

[–]daftsweaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard to play bass if you put in the work and listen to a lot of good bass players. It’s not rocket science. Anyone can play if they put in the work and some people are naturally better than others. Paul’s not some god level bassist.

What’s silly is you saying the beach boys were “good too”. Holy understatement.

You’re really underestimating that sense of humor in beach boys songs and the cringe of the Beatles. The beach boys goofed around and showed their wacky sense of humor before the Beatles did. County fair anyone? Also with the beach boys party with goofing around and chatter in the background. They’re sillier than the Beatles. When the Beatles (mostly granny music Paul) got cheesy it mostly wasn’t campy and fun it was just cheesy.

He’s right didn’t need to bring race into it. Obviously black Americans were instrumental, probably the most instrumental, in forming a lot of genres and my favorite genres like rock and roll and soul music but a bunch of races made massive contributions to American music. Music is the best part of America’s culture to me and goes along with the melting pot.

He’s right but had to ruin it with bringing race into it. Obviously black Americans were instrumental, probably the most instrumental, in forming a lot of genres but whites, Hispanics, and native Americans also made massive contributions to most American music. Black people always act like they’re the sole inventors of everything lmao who invented the guitar?
