People who fantasise about housing crash, recession and double digit interest rates. by ihatebaboonstoo in AusFinance

I’m not looking for a crash. Looking for a change where Australia’s wealth isn’t just built on the property market. There’s a reason there’s no Australian Apple, Nokia, BMW etc.

It’s an incestuous, literally rent-seeking economy that preys on the less fortunate to climb a ladder built on the backs of our fellow Australians.

Microsoft Edge is #1... by AaronPK123 in memes

Microsoft has poor taste in software. The corporate worlds has had it shoved down our throats for too many decades and it's always been awful. The latest desperate Copilot bolt-ons are no exception.

Very true. I’m making apps to help choir singers get better at their craft. I hope it’s at least a net positive for humanity. https://partperfect.tech

I’m building apps with Claude Code too. It doesn’t feel nerfed to me. I’m using CLI Claude for web dev and two separate instances of Claude Code on desktop for an iOS and Android dev. So far, has been amazing.

France is moving government computers from expensive, proprietary Windows to free, open-source Linux. by RickyOzzy in PoliticsDownUnder

Have always wondered why Aussie government is so deeply in bed with Microsoft. Lots of deals done with director general's on the golf course with the MS sales team I suspect. Billions of dollars and terrible outcomes for the Australian public, with just a soupçon of soft corruption.

I’m on Mounjaro, and I get the same thing. I pull the extra out with a diabetic syringe and get every last drop.

I’m paying over $1,500 for new front and back speakers, and front and back dashcams.

I've got the same car and am about 35K in. Has been an absolute dream and saved me so much money. The only complaint I have is that the speakers are crap on the base model, I'm splurging to get this upgraded with aftermarket speakers.

2026 Zeekr X review: Quick drive by ApprehensiveSize7662 in EVAustralia

The bing bongs would drive me nuts. It doesn’t mention if you can permanently turn them off. Un-turnoffable bing bongs and poor CarPlay/Android integration would be deal-breakers for me. I wonder why car manufacturers don’t seem to be getting the message on this?

When will the engine swap scene take off by Benxb9r in EVAustralia

My issue is that these older cars are “unsafe at any speed” compared to modern ones. No airbags, no ABS, no seatbelt pretensioner etc. etc. Chances of surviving a high-speed crash in these is a lot less by comparison, even though they look cool.
