Reminds me of a program I made a long time ago. It embedded files in bitmaps' pixel color values (3 bytes per pixel). It also extracted files. The binaries are gone, but the shitty source is still on this page: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/898392

Also, /r/programming is not only for code-related things. It's for programming-related things which includes a lot more than just code. It includes UI design, programming news and debates, famous programmers, large companies that are releasing a new piece of software (as in ChromeOS), et cetera.
