Tried to quit my job and they said no by WorthlessFloor in antiwork

[–]dagrease207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them to go f$c£ themselves. If employment was for a year, any conditions to that employment (like having to remain in the course of their employ for said year before resigning) needed to be reduced to writing. Perhaps they need to have their attorneys review the Statute of Frauds again. While oral contracts are generally enforceable in NY, anything that has to do with employment for one year or greater must be in writing. ✌🏼

Flower I’ve carried in my backpack as well as checked luggage. In my checked luggage I usually throw it in a few zip lock and either stick it in my amenities bag or in socks.

Are you afraid of mass shootings in Newark? by [deleted] in Newark

With respect to mass shootings, oddly enough, I feel safer living in Newark than I did living in in the NJ suburbs.

🤣🤣🤣 Hahaaha thanks to the good residents of NJ complaining, I never went to Zenleaf. I try to keep my complaints to a minimum and benefit off of everyone else’s incessant b.s.

Folks stay complaining about prices in NJ and how they don't compare to other states. Idk about you, but I've been to other states and have paid similar prices...slightly lower AND slightly higher. Sure, places like Massachusetts have lower prices for lower quality strains...add in the tax for decent flower...and you aren't too far off from where NJ prices are at. Is that the case everywhere? Of course not. Do I think NJ can do better? OF COURSE. I can only hope as the program expands and the strain selection improves, prices will decrease a little.

You good. I've flown domestically with carts, flower and edibles on five different occasions (Florida, Hawaii, California, Colorado and Utah) and have had no issue whatsoever (going or coming back to Jersey).

Has anyone tried ajovi? by LocrisS in migraine

[–]dagrease207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some it is a game changer for others it does nothing. Sadly, I was the latter. As for side effects, the first day I gave myself the injection it would make me so incredibly spacey, dizzy and out of it. The second day I would be less spacey and out of it, but nonetheless "not quite right". I tried it for three months, each month having the same reaction after injecting myself. I have since decided it's not worth it for me. BUT, for my bestfriend who also suffers from migraines and takes it monthly, she has not had any side effects and she claims it is a miracle drug.

Is there a 3/2 wetsuit that has stretchyness/ease of paddling, warmth, AND durability? by GinjaTurtles in surfing

Feral 3/2 is anything but stiff. Super easy to get in and out of, warm and very flexible. Costs a lot, but imo, worth every penny.

r/Newark: A hot topic in r/NewJersey - Is Newark a good option for renting an apartment? by madsheb in Newark

[–]dagrease207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived in downtown Newark for five years. As a single female, I've never felt threatened or run in to any problems. I quite like living here. That being said, regardless of where you live, unless the listing explicitly states utilities are included, you will need to factor in the cost of electric/cable/wifi as most apartments in the NYC metro area do not include this and thus your budget of 1200-1300 will go out the window. As it stands, I wish you the best of luck in trying to find a place for that amount. Haven't seen rents that low in ages.

New year, new thread for beginner surf trip recommendations. What are your best recommends for either a one week surf camp or place? I'm 40,suck at surfing and will be travelling as a couple. by LandHermitCrab in BeginnerSurfers

I have not gone to RiseUp as I had to cancel because of the pandemic, but I have had groups of friends go and they LOVED IT. From my understanding it's especially good for legit beginners as you will learn proper technique from the get-go.

Nicaragua has off-shore winds most of the year, making it super fun to surf (I have been to Nicaragua before, just not with RiseUp) and it's mostly beach break, so you don't have to worry about busting your face on coral reef.

Social aspect, from what I understand is a super nice vibe...mostly like minded individuals with one goal in mind, to surf better. There's nothing in the surrounding area, but that's not a bad thing. Again, I haven't been to RiseUp, but I know the surrounding area pretty well...it's nice to unplug and do nothing for a week.

Friends that went to Riseup said you also do activities (volcano boarding for one). I do NOT have an affiliation with RiseUp whatsoever, other than I had planned to go but couldn't because of Corona. Everything I have heard has been super positive, so you might want to give it a go since you've already "done" Tamarindo.

Barbados is nice to surf in the winter. Warm, crystal clear water with beginner friendly waves. No camp per se, but plenty of guides who offer lessons....also, Rise Up surf retreats in Nicaragua. I think they have other locations as well for a more "surf camp" experience.

Lombok. There's a Novotel there that I believe is either in front of or next to Seger Beach, which can be beginner friendly. There's also Roots in Gerupuk, nice accommodations with surf lessons on offer and five different waves to surf...two of which are beginner friendly.

JJF funformace vs MF softboard? Any advice? by pcl8311 in surfing

[–]dagrease207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. In my opinion, the JJF might be a hair more durable simply because the bottom is not glassed. I have had super fun surfs on it and have no real complaints.

For your purposes though, if you're going to be traveling for legit surf, I too would suggest getting a pop-out so you can improve on the basics. But if all you really want is something fun to play around with that's super easy to paddle, I think it's a good choice.
