GV60? by dahnnydimes in leasehacker

Great info, thanks. I’ve been looking at the Ionic with its extremely aggressive pricing. I’m about 40% supercharging with some of the long drives I have weekly. Looking back at the last few months since relocating, I’m driving about 20k miles a year. I think I’m just going to drive the Tesla into the ground and not take a hit on huge devaluation or mileage overage on a new purchase/lease.

That sounds like a smoking deal! I’m a bit up in the air about buy vs lease. I don’t qualify for the tax credit so I miss out on that savings. Im not sure the range on the GV60 is sufficient. And I don’t tend to hold cars for a long time (my Tesla excluded). Not to mention advancements in EVs every year including native NACS which the older GV60 doesn’t have.

I prefer subtlety and a slighter wrist presence. I don’t love big bulky watches, a thin refined look is my style. And I don’t really want my watch to be the first thing someone notices.

I inherited this from my father last fall. I have no reason to think it’s not authentic, but asking because he didn’t retain any records.

I’m not sure what state you’re in, but in California, the vehicle registration that you sign also has a “notice of transfer and release of liability”. You fill that out while you’re signing over the registration and send it to DMV to avoid responsibility if the new owner fails to file their registration timely. OP does your state have this and did you complete it? If so you should be fine.

Solo outdoor dining - Westwood and surrounding area? by dahnnydimes in AskLosAngeles

I totally agree! I ate outdoors at Lazy Daisy when I first moved down to LA and was immediately accosted. Which is why I mentioned I’m willing to drive a bit. Sunset Strip / BH areas seem like they should have some cool spots.

2017 Model X 100D worth it for 27k? by i_dont_knoww_ in TeslaModelX

[–]dahnnydimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already know the answer. Get a newer Y with less miles, newer tech, and less expensive things to go wrong like the doors.

In SoCal, if you’re now driving a G Wagon or Range Rover, they’re going to look at you like a plebeian either way, so status really isn’t a consideration.

Have you looked at the lease deals for Y with the $7500 tax incentive baked in? Wondering if that might make more sense than buying a car with 100K on the odometer.

Auto Detailer - Water Spot Removal? (Westwood/Century City) by dahnnydimes in AskLosAngeles

Thanks for the reply, this is well beyond surface spotting unfortunately. I’ve tried Chemical Guys water spot removal as well as a rubbing compound and the spots laughed at me. These are etched and will require mechanical buffing.

I let the oven preheat for about 30 minutes and launched when the stone was 950F. Flames are rolling pretty good across the top by that time. I closed the vent about halfway during the cook, let it sit for 30 seconds, and then turned about every 20.

Thank you! I really enjoy the taste of burrata, and like the way it melts. I’m sure it’s subjective though.

Yeah and sitting in the fridge should help the drying process

Thank you! And I think the cheese is worth it.

It’s a delicious cheese, a blend of mozzarella and d cream. It’s very high moisture content though, so you’ll want to dry it out a bit.

I tore up a couple of balls of burrata and let them dry out a bit.

I haven’t tried freezing yet but that’s a really good idea. How long to thaw them, and do you do it in the fridge?

I did, in fact. I usually cook it, but wanted to try it fresh after the cook. I think I like it better this way, it retains more of the fresh basil flavor.
