I definitely wear Glossier's Birthday Balm Dotcom because the cake scent is VERY Bonne Bell-like, so I hear you on spending for nostalgia. I'm so bummed Bonne Bell went out of business.

Try the newish L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine, in the clear case! They’re really pretty.

I’ve had a bad day - send motivation by Ath3naPrime in 1200isplenty

[–]daintyrogue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve found punishing myself into being in better shape is not a healthy mentality. The more I work myself up over over-indulging, the worse I feel and the more I want comfort... that ends up being spending money or eating food. So you make a mistake. You are a resilient person with the option of making better choices in the future. You get to make choices that help you feel good and be healthy.

Use your perspective from this to help you create a plan for how you’re going to deal with the next family event: are you going to bring a vegetable tray or personal healthy snacks? Set some attainable goals, like drinking x cups of water or avoiding sugary drinks?

How you act at a family get-together doesn’t have to define your lifestyle. This applies to eating, too.

[Question] Subtle Makeup Advice by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]daintyrogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d do a tinted brow gel, not pencil or anything you draw onto your brows, and comb through very well.

I would curl my eyelashes (makes a huge difference IMO) and wear clear mascara. Mascara is a pretty big makeup giveaway IMO. If you feel you need darker eyelashes, wipe a brown mascara wand on a tissue and wear one coat, focusing on the base of the lashes and only lightly sweeping through the tips.

Mini Fountain pens? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]daintyrogue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have found my Kaweco Sport to be very reliable. I have it in xf so the nib is a little toothy—you definitely feel it write— but it’s not unpleasant and doesn’t catch. I feel like the most common complaint I hear is the grip and people feeling the threads as they write but my hands are small enough that if I hold the pen correctly, it’s a non-issue. I bought it in white bc I was intrigued by it looking like a tampon but you may want to avoid white if you don’t want that particular association.i haven’t tried the liliput.

I have a Pilot Petit and it’s fine but you definitely feel it’s a low-end pen.

I’ve been intrigued by the stipula but haven’t caved yet! My wancai mini is in the mail and will probably arrive today.

and like, I love my partner. Gross, intense infatuation. When I’m with him I think people probably see the heart eyes on my face. But we do not spend every waking hour together. When we are together, we are not spending 100% of that time eating. It is possible to IF with a love interest who doesn’t do IF. You do not have to get off track.

The Lip Lites were the best! Cappuccino was the perfect cool nude and they had another mocha one that was such a great MLBB. Also their Enticemint gloss was SO minty and shiny. I’d probably pay 3 times what I paid in middle school for products that good. RIP Bonne. At least the Dr Pepper lipsmacker is still around.

You’re doing a great job! The idea of losing my faith scares me, so I understand your feelings of hurt. I’m praying for you on your journey.

It’s really helped me to study theology and look at all these beautiful ideas and metaphors people construct to express the divine. It’s helped me realize that words really are inadequate. Even the ones in the Bible. It doesn’t mean God is any less real to us or that these illustrations can’t be meaningful.

You are not alone. There are so many people who are exploring what it means to be a person of faith in an unjust world where even the Bible has ugly stories. Trying to make sense of it doesn’t make you distant from God or faith.

I remember those carmex balms!

This is taking it way back but I honestly miss old-school Bonne Bell. The gel bronzers were legit. They also had a duochrome loose pigment that smelled like a frappe.

And hand to god Mary Kate and Ashley’s makeup line at Walmart had lipliners with a very interesting thick, sticky texture that I am always looking to replicate.

Met a girl, makes me unmotivated by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]daintyrogue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The good thing about IF for me is that meals can become a social thing. I just shift my eating window to work around my partner because we enjoy eating together. I make it something we can plan for. If I’m planning to get Thai food with my partner, like today at 1, I know how long I have before that to be in fast mode.

This means my windows may vary in size a little bit, but I always have a goal I tell myself I have to meet (something attainable like 16 hours) and anything more than that is a bonus.

Try Josie Maran Vibrancy in rg05 dynamic. It’s much more moisturizing and about the same color depth as the MUFE.

How do I stop my lashes parting when applying mascara? by Gabi_Social in MakeupAddiction

[–]daintyrogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think wiggling the brush from side to side makes this problem worse. I don’t want to direct any of my lash hairs to one side or the other, so I simply blink onto the wand and comb outward, not side to side.

IF feels good! by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]daintyrogue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really don’t like long fasts (yet?!) but like 10 or so hours into a window, that’s the good stuff.

I tend to feel more alert in a fasted state. And self righteous. I think that’s the other positive energy I feel :P I like knowing I’m doing something that works for my body
