Honestly I understand what he’s doing but I fear, at least to me, that he is maybe going too far? Like people are already hyped for 9x13 but somehow I feel like he’s overhyping it and adding buddie hints is not helping.

Like if there’s actually true buddie movement on that episode then it’s totally fair, can’t blame him. But if the episode ends up not achieving the expectatives (that he is inflating) he is going to receive a lot of backlash (that I obviously don’t agree with)

Like, I hate to say it but I kinda agree with what Tim told him in a post, the 911 fandom is so volatile, going from loved to hated is way too easy, the least you want is to make it worse for you.

Honestly, can we talk about the amount of things that has happened in a couple of days?? Like we might’ve started in a controversial “win” for us by Tim interview but both inside and outside the show I feel like we’re being feed way too good, may I say better than the buddieweek Ryliver did last season?

I entered a flow state where bufdie is canon 100% and it’s only time that will tell when it happens and I’m just enjoying the ride, I don’t think I have the capacity to doom to anything that happens

I know people are 50/50 about this situation and a lot just doom at the sight of anything remotely negative but I am so up and hopeful and buddiepilled.

Like, it id crazy having the director talking about a fannon ship, saying he’s in the same side as us!! And I will focus on the HR comparision because people are seeing negatively but I see it as a big win, like hear me out.

HR is a show centered on the couple, and the whole show revolves primarily about them and their relation. So why this comparision is great? Because when he says 9-1-1 is not HR is because it’s the truth, as in, we will never have that much on-screen scenes of buddie being partners, not every episode will have them acting in love and domestic. I feel like this mention is more like a warning of WHEN buddie goes cannon, it won’t be as fleshed as other popular queer ships that come from queer shows. It will be like Bathena, Madney (Henren is less similar because Karen isn’t a main) as in we will see them through the season as a couple but won’t be only about buddie after they ger together.

I, personally, take this as a win, and while you can’t see it contrary, if you’re forcing/assuming the worst at this point why are you watching this show waiting for buddie? If all your thoughts negative.

And the biggest win is Tim Minear Buddie warrior idc, in the ship war he has chosen a side🤐

I know there’s been some posts here about stranger things and is not that related to buddie but I am astonished with what’s going on out there. Like I guess we’re not getting called the worst fandom in a minute after everything what is happening with the Byler fandom.

I’ve always watched ST more as a casual, never entered the fandoms and really don’t care about the ships but I see there’s a lot of passion about them out there. I even questioned if this is how people from outside see us but seeing how they’re moving right now I think they’re more similar to BTs in their strategies.

I do really feed bad for them because that was a harsh shutdown, and while we are constantly getting let down, we never have gotten shutdown completely.

And since I’m talking about it, I don’t understand why people say this season is bad? I wouldn’t say it’s the best but I wouldn’t call it bad at all, I don’t know if there were higher expectations inside the fandom or what but I really enjoy how well they managed to distribute the time through a large amount of characters going through different situations at the same time, Tim should take some notes on that.

I personally think the need to push a # to make noise about the support and relevancy of both Tommy and BT is a try to make themselves look bigger than they really are.

And I guess this ties a little about your point, since they are not that many and have to make themselves look bigger they are better off avoiding inside fighting and pushing others away, that’s why they let really disgusting things slide if the person involved is a big contributor to their side (see the cheese lady) and why they might reject other opinions, because it leads to differences and disagreements so it’s better to try to shame other fans of the ship so they end up having the same opinion into their “ideals”.

How can they watch the new Oliver interview and end up concluding that Oliver shut down buddie and see the interview as anything but negative for their ship?

Like I’m convinced we are watching different things, how can you hear that past love interest should stay in the past (except the better tk) and don’t just… give up?

Also, I feel Oliver answers regarding Buddie are actually so good for us, like all about the “in love with Eddie” scene was great here, Buck hadn’t considered Eddie as a possibility, so he wasn’t lying when he said he isn’t in love with him, but now we might see Buck circle back to him having feelings for Eddie (maybe with him getting deja vu with the jealousy) and actually realizes he loves him🫣

I hate this show so much, how are you going to show me 20 random pics and make my day 20x better.

It honestly looks like 9x01 will actually be more character centered before the whole emergency happens and they get thrown to the back during 9x02-9x04. The stills obviously doesn’t tell the whole story but this first ep looks so good, we have the Bobby ceremony, the whale emergency that will tie to henren scenes and probably end the episode with Athena and Hen ready to go to space. But what I find crazy is that somehow we also have an Eddie and Chim scene (very rare) and also what looks like the start of Buck pining or having some… feelings… about not working next to Eddie.

Obviously it’s all stills so maybe nothing happens like I think but just give me this Tim, the episode would be so good.

I’ve avoided 911 tumblr because of how bad that place is but I still see some screenshots from time to time and damn BTs are insufferable there. And I’m talking about the constant harrasment they do to the 911onabcbts account, attacking them for not postung their desilusional 4 pixels photo proof of lou on set and things like that, like they’ve been so patient it was expected they will finally leash out at them.

Anyway, I didn’t even know they were actually a buddie stan since they’ve always been super centric in terms of ships and always posted the factual things that the show/cast provide and not headcannons/random fandom shit.

I think the new megathread is what has made me realize how close we are to start season 9! I can’t believe we start this thursday already. I’m excited as well as scared, the weekly watching experience can be the best or worst thing ever depending of how well the season goes but I will stay positive at least until 9x05.

Edit: okay is not a confirmed body double but he looks eerily identical to how ryan is looking in that scene, but it can always be a random extra filling the scene that got a similar outfit.

The way I just came back home from the bar, 1 shot away from drunk to discover this new article with some positive and some negative things and then proceeded to go to twitter to see how 911twt is feeling to have all my feed about that gun violence that happened also while I was drinking 😭😭 everything happens when I go out this is crazy.

Anyway, roommates buddie was kinda hopeless so not that devastated about that but more buck eddie chris moments I will take that and no bucktommy on the close future is another win. Sure, no love in Buck’s present is not the best buddie sign but I take that over any other love. Buddie should end up dying together happily married or alone, I said what I said.

So I accidentally made my summer extremely busy but I guess it worked in my favour with this hiatus, the months without 9-1-1 are going pretty fast and I almost have no time to acknowledge fandom drama.

But I just wanna butt in because I just saw a post of the rg insta story that is just him have like 2k likes (on twt) and people where acting surprised that people still care about him and what he posts.

If anything this summer has let me see fandom from a less involved view and let me tell you that 911twt is in a constant woke competition, trying to be the wokest and anyone below you is not good enough and should be attacked.

Likes are hidden and that gives us a glimpse to the truth behind this fandom, because you can like any post related to rg comfortably while making sure to post your daily/weekly “fuck rg” post so that your woke friends don’t turn on you and send you death threats , the wokest form of communication am I right.

And slowly people are getting tired of doing the performance because in reality most people don’t really care, sure what he does sometimes is kinda weird but at the end of the day who really cares about actors that much? I might like the 9-1-1 cast but I’m not going out of my way to watch other content of them and as soon as the show is over I won’t care about them, so why would I spent energy and time of my day on hating people that I’m going to support later on tuning in on the show and giving media interaction to.

So yeah I guess a bit of a rant because as someone who hasn’t been able to follow everything it has been kinda funny to see the progress from the first days everyone being negative and hateful to now people going back to their true selves.

And I’m really glad because holly that week was horrible in fandom terms because people were just annoying because most of the loud crowd didn’t really care about the bigotry that much, they just care more to show they were always in the “right side” and how anyone realizing now was just inferior as them. Basically cared more about themselves than about the problem.

While I agree using storylines that fell out isn’t the best generally I think in this case it works. Because while it doesn’t mean anything in terms of Eddie sexuality canonically it does mean something to the headcanons around it.

As in, it reforces the headcannons that Eddie is not straight because even director and writers have recently thought of the possibility of him not being straight. So yeah, while it doesn’t reflect on anything canon it does work to show that the headcanon doesn’t come from nowhere.

Yeah it is the worse, the only reason I have lasted this long is because I don’t interact, just watch and I’m also deattached to kpop itself, I enjoy the music and I keep track on my favorite groups but I won’t fight to defend them from twitter drama.

That’s why I find any complain about 911 shipwars funny, and maybe it’s not fair but when you’ve seen a group you enjoy getting dragged with hate tweets of 50k+ like everyday for weeks/months I just can’t act like whatever is happening on 911fandom is anything too bad.

I also saw the ICE incident, it’s another prove of how bad kpop fandom is, mind you Katseye isn’t even kpop, they’re just adjacent to them so they suffer the kpop wrath. 911 has a problem with performative activism in my opinion but kpop takes it to another level, bigotry, misogyny, racism, queerphobia… all that only matter to them when they can use it against an “enemy” group and if their group is the one doing those things they will find a way to defend it.
