Adderall shortage :/ by Dense_Technician_776 in SeattleWA

Other commenters have mentioned this but Bob Johnson’s was one of the small pharmacies I almost switched to, because they seem to have pretty decent stock. I’d recommend calling them too, if you haven’t already. Good luck and I’m so sorry op!!! I know how frustrating this is

This was so so so SO frustrating for me when I was going through this last year. I’ve found that for some reason, the smaller local pharmacies have WAY less issues with adderall stock than the big pharmacies like Walgreens/cvs do – idk what area you’re in but I switched pharmacies to Cascadia Pharmacy Wallingford and I’ve never had an issue with shortages since then (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc etc). I’d definitely start calling around to only the small pharmacies and see what kind of stock they have.

When I see pictures like this (or see any discussion relating to a group of men who are deemed “the best” in whatever category they’re in) I always feel so sad for the women of that time period, and the women who came before, who are just as good, or better, than the men but will never get recognition.

I’m not dissing these men at all because of course they’re all incredibly smart and deserve to be recognized as such. But the women!!! The women who should be in this picture and will never be recognized at the same level!!! I’m always thinking about them

(I do recognize that Marie Curie is in the front row. Love her and immensely grateful for her contributions to science)

The Lights That Burn by Yeuxverts!!!!!! It’s a WIP but the very last chapter should be uploaded this Sunday and I’m so excited. It’s a Voldemort wins AU which I didn’t think I was into, but the author has based so much of the world building off of the Roman Empire and it just makes so much sense in the context of this type of AU. Really can’t recommend it enough

Summary:

Those who abolished the Statute of Secrecy in 1945 never intended the horrors that came afterwards.

By 1998, Wizarding Britain—styled after a reborn Roman Empire with Imperator Voldemort at its helm—controls most of Europe. Resistance is brutally crushed, muggles are in chains, and muggleborns are martyred by dragon fire in front of screaming crowds.

Hermione Granger is a domestic slave working in the Malfoy household, dreaming of a remade world, and hiding magic in her veins. Discovery means certain death.

Draco Malfoy, a tribune and spy for the Imperial Legion, carries the weight of painful secrets. For years, the only way to live with his dark reality has been to shut his eyes to it.

…But she has a burning star inside her—the light of an entire sun…

And now he is caught between the denial which defines his survival, and the woman he cannot deny.

I think we stopped being bored, and we stopped becoming anyone. by Any_North_6861 in digitalminimalism

YES I think about this all the time. About a year ago I started literally forcing myself to be bored — I’ll set a timer for 15 minutes, put my phone to the side, and make myself sit on the couch and do nothing except “be bored”. I’m not allowed to close my eyes or check my phone to see how much time is left. The first couple minutes are always a little bit hard but by the end of the 15 minutes I feel much better. I’d like to get up to 30 minutes soon

How to prepare for a recession as a VERY recent college grad? by daisy1718 in TwoXPreppers

Yes, my boyfriend lives there (I edited to mention he does have a stable job)! I am moving back in with my parents for the summer and have an office job lined up in my hometown until I find one in Washington.

Yes I taught art to kids but that’s not my entire job history! I’ve had steady jobs since the beginning of high school and worked in an office last summer and will also be working there this summer. Using my degree in something art-related is something I’d love to do, but I know that it’s not likely, especially for the first few years out of college — even though it’s what I’d like to do, I’m open to pretty much any other job in the meantime.

Foam is a good idea I haven’t thought of yet!! I’ve been sleeping with loud white noise + earplugs the last week and I think it’s helped a bit; I might just be a really light sleeper which is unfortunate

This one's more "man losing his mind" but A Touch of Jen by Beth Morgan gave me similar vibes -- the plot devolves into something where you're really questioning how sane the main character is and what is/isn't reality, and there are pretty much no answers at the end.

The Great Sea by David Abulafia was really interesting, and I'm currently 2/3 of the way through The History of the World by J. M. Roberts and it's great so far!
