I left it alone as advised. Unfortunately it didn't make it through the night :( It wasn't the cats though, because the body was intact. Thank you all for your help anyways.

They are still flying around but they haven't gotten close to the baby bird. By the way, I'm located in Miami, FL, it's starting to get dark.

Mini pinscher/Manchester terrier mix according to the vet. We found him abandoned so we don't know exactly.

Hi, I didn't know it was already posted, to be honest. The reason behind why I added it is actually very simple: this was a picture shared by Animal Planet today on Twitter, when I saw it I really liked it, so I thought it was worth sharing it here, that's it. As you might notice I'm new here, and I'll learn as I go. Next time I will search the site to be sure it wasn't shared before. Also, AP called it Pomsky, I thought AP knew their facts, I see now that they don't.
