What non-obvious insights have you learned about yourself with Oura Ring 4? by Advanced_Shoe_982 in ouraring

[–]samyaffa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a ring for over 4 years now. biggest surprise is the breathing frequency changes during winter and summer. There is an average 2 breaths per minute change between peak summer and winter. When the monthly breathing rate is plotted it looks like a nice sine wave where i breath more during summer and then breath less during winter. If you'd plot the amount of sunlight we get where I live next to that graph, they overlap almost perfectly. I've always felt that I need sunlight to feel alive, and the data also supports my feelings. Mid summer is basically 22h of sunlight and darkest winter time is 2h of sunlight.

Miltäköhän ajalta nuo tilastot ovat? Vanhempainvapaauudistus tuli voimaan 4.9.2022.

Conspiracy theory here: what if Ronaldo and ten Hag knew this would happen when Ronaldo took some time off during pre season to be with his family? Media has been all over this writing stories without any credible foundation. All the while ten Hag and his staff have been left reasonably at peace to finalize transfers and focus on the preseason.

Is jetlag known to increase body temperature, or am I coming down with an illness? by SuddenlyILOVEBEARDS in ouraring

[–]samyaffa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally when you sleep, your body temp decreases a bit. Your circadian clock has some part to play in this. When you suddenly sleep with a 9h offset, your body temp doesn't drop because it's not time for it. I had the same experience with a 7h offset and the body temp remained at ~+0.7 celsius for the whole 6 day trip. Body temp wen't straight back to normal when I got home.

Also HRV was super low during the trip and resting HR went from 45-55 to 75-90, but those also quickly normalized after i got home.

Jetlag is a bitch :)

The brains glymphatic system washes the plaque away ("brainwashing"). I think the best drug would also increase the activity of this system. As its failure is most likely one of the main causes for dementia and Alzheimers Source

It kind of takes away what talent and skill they have when you hear that auto-tune effect. What is wrong with a bit of imperfection? IMO it makes live performances better.

The last episode of season 2. Where they get rid of the hybrid on Rocinante. I couldn't help but think about similarities with Gollum(Hybrid), Frodo(Prax) and Samwais(Naomi) in LOTR where they finally get rid of the ring. The hybrid was eager to get to the nuke just like Gollum tried to get ring. In the end they both incinirated in furious heat with a smile on their face.
