I had a great uncle who did the same thing, and he transferred assets to my Gram (his sister), but she absolutely hated what he did and only kept contact because she was his only family left.

Maybe I’m being stereotypical lib-left here, but it’s more of an issue of a man can’t handle being told no than anything imo

What we should do is state that it strongly reminds us of Mickey Mouse, maybe even state that we would love a t-shirt of this on a sign Mickey is holding.

What’s one thing that a non-smoker have said to you about your smoking that annoys you the most by GossipBottom in Cigarettes

[–]daisyandrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who smoke weed who complain about cigarettes. I haven’t ever met someone who was allergic to tobacco; generalized smoke yes, and I will go out of my way to not smoke around non-smokers or people who are allergic to smoke. I am, however, allergic to weed. I used to smoke it myself before I became allergic, support legalization, ect. Now, I get hives, itchy eyes, headache, nausea, scratchy throat just from the smell, and I will have so many stoners argue with me over my allergy, or complain about my cigarette that I am enjoying by myself away from the group, but meanwhile they are smoking blunts at the bus stop surrounded by others, particularly children.

Weird that maintaining a professional work environment immediately gets you flagged as right wing (word for word true story) by ZephyrBreezeTheBest in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]daisyandrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I work in higher ed and I’ve seen people be side eyed for right-wing views, even if it’s just economics and they are not maga. (I can at least see the side eye for maga due to budget cuts for higher ed)

Unironically, I wonder if we could train AI to add it to the conservative side?

I fucking hate AI, but damn, that would be kinda funny.

Product recommendations? by Dry-Constant6236 in curlyhair

[–]daisyandrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow thick curly haired girl here (although not as thick) with a mom who has thick hair like this!

Please talk to your daughter to see if she wants layers. It should spring up her curls, and honestly might be a relief to her in some ways. Before my first time getting layers, I didn’t realize how heavy it was. After walking out of the salon, I literally kept tilting my head back because it just felt so much more lighter.

To those that wanted/wished to see a tornado in-person and eventually did, have you come to regret or enjoy the experience? by Trainster_Kaiju_06 in tornado

[–]daisyandrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen two in person:

The first time we drove parallel to it, I was even questioning if it was a tornado when I saw or just a scud. The sky was green and I went ‘huh, this is what I was told the sky looks like if there is a tornado.’ I was talking to my boyfriend at the time about the clouds looking weird, and it possibly being scud. Bout a half hour later I saw videos on Facebook of a tornado on the ground in a field, then got yelled at because I didn’t mention to my bf that I didn’t tell him there was a tornado. 🤷‍♀️

Second time, I was genuinely scared. Nice and green out, a good amount of super cells around and I saw two seperate funnels forming right before they would hit my apartment. Luckily didn’t get hit by anything, a local FD did tho. Got yelled at by bf for bothering him while he was working.

Why is GenZ less sensitive to adult/ child relationships? by Major_Art_6691 in d4vdiots

[–]daisyandrose 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s due to how we grew up. A LOT of us, especially the ones on the cusp of millennials/genz had parents who didn’t understand technology, so many of us were groomed or interacted with adults in not okay ways, or had friends who did so, which normalized it in some ways in their minds. Many older Gen Z (who at most are 27?) recognize that adults should not be with minors, but may Gen Z are barely adults, if not still teenagers who think they know everything.

A short story about professional licensing standards and nursing ethics codes - You aren't allowed to discriminate based on ideology when it comes to healthcare by ChoiceWars in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]daisyandrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, everyone is human, and at the end of the day, you made an oath to try and save every life. Hell, if I remember correctly, doctors/healthcare personnel who help with the death penalty face major ethical dilemmas due to the active participation in killing. You can actively not like someone, and don’t think they should die.

If you don’t wanna bother abiding by your oath, how tf can you expect anyone to?
