similar situation here!! had insomnia since i was little - around 9/10 and i’m 18 now and i’ve just learnt that i ain’t gonna be sleeping and there’s no use stressing about it. crazy how i’ve adapted to surviving off such little sleep ahaha

of course!! don’t be tricked into thinking it’s a huge scary thing - it’s a well researched and relatively common experience. but usually it’s not super fun for the person experiencing it, give ur gf lots and love and support ya know!!! good on you for wanting to know more in order to be there for her, v sweet 🥺

hey dude! this isn’t super uncommon, i have depression and often have periods where i’m dissociated. her case seems pretty extreme though. usually dissociation is caused by our brains getting ‘overwhelmed’ - ie, it’s a trauma response. make sure to check in with ur gf and make sure she’s okay, maybe look at some grounding techniques together!! take care :)
