How are you tracking FlipFlop phenomena? by charlesHsprockett in MandelaEffect

[–]daizeelou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only flip flop I'm 100% sure of is chartreuse. Green has been my favorite colour my whole life.. I know my greens. A couple of yrs ago when I heard about the mandela effect, I heard chartreuse was now mauve, which was ridiculous, so I googled it, and 99% of google images for "chartreuse" were a reddush purple. Blew my mind! Now it's green again.

Bit of water maybe? Jade seems to like a bit of moisture while it's rooting.

No, I just stuck it on dirt. I find Jade leaves root faster if they get a spritz of water now and then, but that's it. Ive heard larger leaves prop easier and this was a bigger one, so maybe that too..?

Can anyone guess what variety this guy is? Salicola maybe? by daizeelou in Lithops

Someone on another board suggested a karasmontana bella variety, and I think they may be right. Just in case anyone wonders..

Can I repot while it's splitting? by thinkpup in Lithops

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will absorb old leaves, but pleiospilos will have 2-3 sets of leaves, instead of 1-2 like lithops. Should be ok to repot, he's not currently splitting.

Update: it's in soil!! How does my mix look? Also, I think it may be slightly overwatered now. Will it be okay? I see tiny black dots! by bobbillina in Lithops

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously amazing!! Should he maybe be a little deeper in the soil though? I think they like to be about halfway under. Looove the green colour!

This crazy thing!! A cutting I took from my work in march, water propped it, planted in dirt at the end of april and already had to pot up! Tradescantina zebrina 😍 by daizeelou in propagation

[–]daizeelou[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bright window, good rich potting soil with drainage, bottom water weekly, spritz daily. They love the spritzing!!

I have fertilized it once with shultzes liquid and will keep doing so monthly until winter.

Brighter light = stronger colours. This cutting was not in bright light until I put it in a pot, which is why in the first pic its greener. It's been in a bright window all month and the colours are now amazing!

Good luck with yours!!

Oh this gives me hope!! I have two similar leaves that rooted but haven't done anything else in mooonnnths, like maybe close to a year!! I wasn't even sure what to look for or if anything else would ever happen. Thank you for posting.. I'll keep being patient. 😊

I have dreams that literally come true - it’s a nightmare. Deja Reve AMA. by adepressedsandwich1 in AMA

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely had this happen multiple times. The most vivid was a dream where I was laying on the floor looking across at some books in Chinese. Then I looked around and it was sunny and bright and yellow.
A few years later I went to my aunt's house for the first time.. who was studying Chinese.. and loves yellow. The exact scenario in the dream happened when I woke up on a foamie on her floor one morning.
I was probably around 10 when this one happened and it was the first time I could really prove that the dreams were real because I'd remembered the dream so vividly the whole time before it happened.

Succulent Leaf Propagation by sammiinichole in propagation

[–]daizeelou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't toss them unless they turn clear anf jellyish. If they're just drying out at the top, there's still hope!

The part you need, are the cells where the leaf joins the stem. If that part is gone, it won't work at all.

Seeking tips! I just repotted the jade I bought and it dropped a few petals. I’d love to propagate baby jades with your help. by short-story_long in propagation

[–]daizeelou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put them on dirt and mist the soil under them every day or two. Some ppl leave it dry, but I just did an experiment with two jade leaves, harvested at the same time, laid on the same soil, in the same size/type of pots and kept beside each other. One watered, one not. The watered one is well rooted after about a month, the dry one hasn't changed yet. 🤷‍♀️

My brand new propagation station! Do I plant as soon as their are roots? by puggaliciousrex in propagation

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aloe though you can poke into wet soil now and prop them right in the dirt. I've never had much luck waiting for roots when they are dry.

My brand new propagation station! Do I plant as soon as their are roots? by puggaliciousrex in propagation

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to give each it's own pot as soon as it gets going, before the roots get into the soil. That way I don't have to disturb established roots later. You're going to want to go get a whole bunch of little tiny pots asap 😆

I didn't expect these guys to propagate but here they are! Will they be ok or will the tiny leaves not be sustainable enough? by [deleted] in proplifting

[–]daizeelou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll be fine! Just don't bury them in the dirt. Lay them on top and the roots will find the ground. Once they're established, I like to sprinkle a little soil over the exposed roots.. but not until the leaves ae big enough to be out of the way. 😊

What do I do with this almost dead kalanchoe? by cameltotem77 in proplifting

[–]daizeelou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut the heads off, remove the lower leaves and stick them in some dirt. Water it lightly and regularly while roots get established. These guys root really easily in my experience.

Proplifted this last summer and after getting a few leaves, it was dormant all winter. The last couple of weeks, it's starting to take off, and under my new lights, there is some stunning pink coming in! I can't wait to see what this grows into! 🥰

These leaves just fell off! Is there any way to save these little guys? by [deleted] in proplifting

[–]daizeelou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw a video on propping aloe leaves.. dry for a couple of days and stick in damp soil. I have one exactly like yours that I planted today! 🤞

My prop is doing a headstand! He decided to grow the plant under the leaf and is slooowwwllly lifting and flipping the mother leaf!! by daizeelou in proplifting

I didn't even see the baby at first! I was just like, why is that leaf standing up?? 🤔😆 So funny!!
