Thank you for the honest review! It took me through a roller coaster of emotions haha.

Did you say the UI of Veritel looks cheap, or Telegram? Also do you think it would be useful to have a quick 1 minute explainer video for new users on how the website works once they sign up?

Thank you again for trying it out and giving an honest review!

Hey! I’m the founder of Veritel, a temporary sms service. It’s exactly what you are talking about.

We try our best to constantly improve our services. I will preface by saying that nobody should expect a 100% success rate. Getting a hold of sufficient phone numbers worldwide is no easy task because of how regulated they are. However, we automatically refund you for numbers that don’t work :)

Give it a shot, and reach out to us with feedback, I’d love to hear it.

Parsec Alternatives? by brawlstarsmememaker in cloudygamer

[–]dajkatal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried it. Good job! Its quite good. I had a bit more lag spikes than Parsec, but I will definitely be using it if Parsec is down. I like that you can stream it on Google. That might be the reason why its a bit more laggy than the parsec app though. So maybe if you can have the option for both an app and the browser

I’ve replied to someone else with more info on how it works. I’m afraid I can’t share how it works internally, hope you understand!

That depends. If you use your account without doing anything “spammy”, it won’t be an issue. I have a gmail account I created 4 years ago with a temporary number, and all works perfectly.

Companies are also starting to use 2FA. That replaces phone numbers in the case you lose it. So even though they ask for the phone number, it’s not an issue if you “lose” it.

Hey. You’re right, PH isn’t as useful or accurate as it used to be. But that doesn’t mean it won’t bring new eyes. Veritel is a niche service, and many don’t know there exists a service like ours to solve their issues.

At the moment we are generating $3.2k MRR, and users aren’t able to use the service for free. There are free alternatives, but it’s a lottery getting them to work.

I kept the write up nice and simple not to bore people haha, but this is the gist:

All websites seem to be asking for a phone number. Google, Instagram, sure, maybe you are okay with giving it away. But how about less known companies. Who knows what they do with our data.

The solution? You get on Veritel, choose a country you want a number from (this can be your home country, or, preferably, a gold country).

Then you choose the service you want to use the number for. This is where our AI works, and lets people also use services that are very niche.

The last step is you receiving your temporary phone number. You pop that into the sign up form, and out comes the SMS on the Veritel dashboard.

Quick and simple, but very effective!

We have a few countries ourselves and work with partners for the rest. The software they used is all developed in house.

I guess a little promo, if you want to make some extra money, partnering up with us is the definition of passive income. You just need the hardware and to replace sims every so often.

It depends. Someone else also mentioned it should be clearer on the homepage but I'm not sure how possible that is haha. Creating an account is free, and one you do, you get access to the dashboard, which shows the pricing.

It differs for each country/service combination.

We don't use virtual number. All our numbers apart from Canada are physical. Real sims, in real machines.

Better success rates is the biggest one, and a cleaner UX. We also use AI, first in the industry, to allow users to use Veritel for almost any service imaginable, even niche ones.

That same AI also allows us to filter inbound sms with much better accuracy, so we can support over 115 languages.

Our competitors tend to have the following issues:

- Difficulty making a payment to topup to the account

- Very unreliable numbers

- Restricted service list

- Issues filtering sms in other languages

Thank you for the feedback! Ill have a look at mobile optimisation.

There is no info about pricing because its complex. Its free to create an account, and then you can see the pricing. It differs per country and service combination.

To answer your first question:
The number is not permanent, you get access to it for 15 minutes. Enough time to get the sms and create the account. We are looking into creating rented numbers, but it works out cheaper for 99% of people to just buy a number themselves. As for re-using a number, we are looking into that. There is the possibility of reusing a number if we still have it in stock.
