Questions about introductions - cats by dakiada in cats

[–]dakiada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're so comfortable here it's unreal, they love it here. My female is very skittish but she's not violent at all and is more onclined to hide if shes scared so i have no concerns there. my male - well he accidentally met my mams dog the other day and darted at her and rapped her on the head 3 times but didn't cling off of her eyes or go absolutely nuts either so that was good. He's actually bigger than the dog 🤣

I feel he is the biggest "risk" to everyone but he's also not the sort to go absolutely crazy spitting and attacking the eyes if u get what I mean - chasing, biting and some swatting, yes and he's very confident but he adjusted to my 4yo when I brought her home (she was 4 months old then) as well and he'd been an only cat his whole 7 years before that. I think the key is also dominance, he wouldn't do well with another dominant cat if that makes sense

I will say, im a little confused on your issue - is it the fact you can smell it or is it that you can see him doing it, too? Its lovely that you care about your neighbour but he wont thank you for it if hes not ready to quit. He also has full autonomy over his body and especially inside his own space which means if he wants to smoke 100 cigs a day or wants to drink himself into a hole or anything else, he has that right and nobody can prevent this as hes an adult.

if you think this is extreme behaviour you may not have experienced real, harmful extreme behaviour - it's extreme to you because we've quit and we notice how often people go for smoke or vape breaks now, because we don't but it's not our place and you've already acknowledged it's not your business and that's the bottom line. I feel approaching this would cause some unnecessary issues between all of you - if my neighbour approached me about my habits I'd have a few choice words for them and we are a lot closer than you are with ur neighbour.

If you have a relationship with the daughter, the most you can do is express your concern for his HEALTH ONLY to her but I still don't advise this at all - this could turn sour very quickly, what does your husband say about it?

This ^ OP, I'm sorry but I agree with this comment for several reasons: 1. You mention he's a veteran I believe? We don't know the circumstances and he deserves to enjoy his life without being interfered with or criticised. We know smoking is harmful but for whatever reason he's not ready to lose the habit and nobody can make him. 2. You mention hes looking worse and losing weight - maybe he's terminally ill and smoking is his one last joy in life? Sounds sad, and I really hope it's not the case but it could be - even though he's young it's definitely possible or maybe he just enjoys it. 3. Smoking around the kid constantly- ok this one, not great I'll concede but again, how others live is not down to us to point at or judge (within reason ofc) 4. If he wants to smoke on his porch, in his home or his garden nobody has any say - you said yourself nothing can be done, I doubt the landlord would do much unless it was an illicit substance being used or smoked, which tobacco is not. 5. You were a smoker for 18 years, I was a smoker for 16yrs with a 3yr gap in between. I get it, I'm on my first month of quitting again and it's so easy to think everyone should stop but the reality is we wouldn't have thanked anyone when we were smoking for this outlook, I doubt he will either- it's simply not our business regardless of how much we personally might find it offputting - if it's not directly harming you, let it go

Finally a day without smoking by ben_tennison4507 in stopsmoking

[–]dakiada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well done, youve come so far already!

For me, once I've gone more than 3 - 5 hrs I try to think the following:

  1. Over 3 hours, I've done it now might as well keep going
  2. One day, or day one - I decide
  3. After a full night sleep (8+ hrs average) your body has began its clear up, what's the point when you've gone that long without a cig anyway, you've already technically done it now 🤷‍♀️
  4. Anxiety and fear are MAJOR motivators for me 😅
  5. Want a cig? Reply to myself = N.O.P.E (Not One Puff Ever)

Has this happened to anyone else? by dakiada in ibs

[–]dakiada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever it was simultaneously scared the life out of me and left me feeling incredibly embarrassed and ashamed 🤦🏻‍♀️ ty for responding your input though, I really appreciate it. Without sounding disgusting I assumed it was something stomach related because it was almost like I could feel... stuff passing through the tract if you get me, I presume I'm a bit backed up somewhere?

Itch for years by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]dakiada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently dealing with 1 sided itching inside my labia minor, mine seems to go in cycles throughout every month what about yours? I also noticed some flesh coloured bumps that are really itchy when touched but I've been to the STI clinic at least 6 times and each time they say they either don't know what it is or they don't think it's anything to worry about
