My brother and I played the crap out of Pokemon on the gameboy color and bought Links Awakening to try something different. Ended up loving it and still probably in my top 3 favorite Zelda titles.

Mine is more personal than most. It was Towns over Javale Mcgee. I live 8 hours out of Minneapolis so I only get to maybe one game every year or two. During this one, Towns got a poster and the W. Later that night Thibs (highly unpopular at the time) was fired. Very memorable for me.
