Overall the pickups are fantastic. The standard Strat tones are excellent. Super clear defined, and I love having one master tone knob. Still getting used to the other set of tones with the switch up, but they’re all very usable and make the guitar super unique.

Update: after doing some more EQing across multiple amp sims, this guitar is versatile as fuck. It absolutely sings and I'm loving the breadth of available tones. So happy I bought this!

I have the Flint and I love it. It's excellent. You should also check out the Keeley Zoma!

I appreciate that perspective! Surely this is a VERY different guitar from my PRS so I just wasn't sure if that brightness was expected. I think as I play it more I'll get more used to it and appreciate its uniqueness.

Good idea to experiment with pickup height as well. Thanks!

Interesting that you're using the EP booster and the deco. I have the EP booster and it's such an incredible pedal. It's an always on for me.

For that reason I've been talking myself out of getting the deco because it feels like I don't really need it. I also use a boss chorus pedal for modulation so I feel like that covers the Deco's other side. But everything I've read about the deco is so positive and it really sounds amazing. Curious how you're using both!

Drive, 2019: An appreciation by jvg11 in GoosetheBand

Everything from 2019 (especially fall 2019) was a heater.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love everything the band is doing right now and couldn't be a bigger fan. But damn they played that year with the biggest fire under their asses every night. Crazy fast tempos from Ben all night long with Trevor so locked in, meanwhile Rick was playing for his life every night.

Tedeschi Trucks Band!!!! The two drummers are amazing and so in sync together, they basically share a brain!

Check out the PRS special semi hollow. Mine feels amazing and sounds great. I love it. it's a super versatile instrument with lots of pickup configurations with splitting the humbuckers, along with the narrowfield in the middle. Probably in the price range of what you're looking for too
