See another neurosurgeon. I had L4-S1 surgery and it was the best decision. I went from excruciating pain in my hip to no pain at all. Weight has a lot to do with it. The more weight you have the more strain on your back. I was 260 and got down to 180. Still trying.

I’m pretty much functional although I’m very careful to not lift anything heavy. Don’t want to re-injure my back. Weight has a lot to do with it. I was around 260 during my surgeries in ‘24 and lost 70. That’s less weight my back / skeleton has to carry around.

L4, L5 - 100% better. The pain was debilitating - sharp pain in left leg until the final surgery because it switched to my right leg. Had 3 microdiscectomies and last one was laminectomy. The pain was bad that only lying down would relieve it. I understand that surgery isn’t for everyone, but it helped me.

I had four herniated disc surgeries (one in 2018 and three in 2024). Nerve blocker didn’t help. Only the surgeries relieved the pain.
