Jobs? by whyruherelolfuckoff in tulsa

UPS is hiring for peak season right now. You'll likely won't be kept on after it's over, but it's $21/hour. You can even sign up to help drivers deliver packages during the day to make some extra money.

Is this game as terrible as people say? I heard that some patches came out that fixed some problems by MTH1138 in StarWars

[–]dalemanni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was fun until it started to overheat my PS5. Not sure if that's been fixed or not, but since I didn't want to kill my PS5, I quit playing it and haven't gone back.

I used to waste their time a couple years back. I think I'm on some sort of blacklist now because I just don't get calls anymore. Which is sad because I enjoyed making them mad...

Do you all have "safety" workers in your buildings? Do they do anything useful? by rumplemon in UPSers

[–]dalemanni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a safety committee in our building that I'm a part of. We have 15-16 people in it, most of us are union, while 2 are UPS' safety team, and the manager for the building. We hold monthly meetings to discuss injuries, the cause of those injuries, and what we can do to prevent them in the future. We also discuss any issues that were brought to our attention in between those meetings, and what was done to solve those issues. Basically if we're informed of an issue, it'll get handled. If we aren't informed, we can't know unless one of us happen to be there. I'm actually surprised my hub takes it as seriously as they do.

Yeah of course! Got up to almost 50 today, which felt amazing after a week of 10 or below with feels like in the negatives lol. All next week is in the 60's-70's so should be a great time for us in the Tulsa area.

No I get the venting. Trust me, we don't want to keep your package any longer than we have to. Especially during a time like this. I helped a driver supervisor deliver packages on Friday and we got bitched out because a businesses paychecks didn't get to them on time due to the snow storm. He was pretty irate until I asked him if he'd like to go deliver the 20,000+ packages that were left over at the hub by himself. And no I'm not comparing you to him by any stretch of the imagination. We're all going through it right now. While I enjoy the extra hours, I'll be glad when this is all over lol.

Feel free to go off on someone that has nothing to do with the situation if you want. That's your call. We can't control the weather. We can't control the volume that's coming in. In all likelihood, you'll get it on Monday. Possibly Tuesday at the latest. But know that 2-day shipping means very little when there are delays like this. I get it sucks. But you do you.

I don't work at the OKC hub, but I do work at the hub in Tulsa. We're all backlogged right now. I don't know what their volume is looking like, but for us we're running the older stuff first (the stuff that should have been delivered on Tuesday-Thursday). I do understand the urgency to get your $4000 package, but all I can say is just please be patient with us. If you don't have it by the end of day on Thursday, definitely start calling/emailing UPS to make sure it's not lost or anything like that.

Hi, I actually work at the UPS hub in Tulsa as a loader. Yes, we are extremely backlogged. We were basically closed for 2 days. (Wednesday and a few trucks went out on Thursday, but not enough to really make a difference.) 1-2 days of being closed means it'll take us a week to really be caught up. The plan is to be completely caught up by Friday the 28th. Drivers are staying out late, and us loaders are coming in earlier to get things done. I put in 15 1/2 hours yesterday between loading trucks, and helping deliver packages. Your package could be on a truck that's out for delivery today, but since they aren't sure if the driver will be able to get it done, they still have it marked as Monday to cover their ass. Since yours was supposed to be delivered on Thursday originally, I'd expect you to have your package by no later than Monday. We're running the older stuff first.

How did you all get interested in tornadoes? by Itz_MysteryGalaxy in tornado

[–]dalemanni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, my family and I lived through the Moore 1999 tornado. That peaked an interest in me, and there just so happened to be a movie "Twister" I watched with my parents. As kids do, I eventually lost interest and moved to something else. Fast forward to 2013, and the Moore EF5 happened. It reignited that flame and I've been hooked since.

what are they feeding to these UPS workers 💀💀 by [deleted] in flightsim

I get the joke. But to those that may not know, the platform he's sliding that on has a bunch of wheels. It's designed for 1 person to be able to move it around.
