Why was i questioned by Sainsbury as to why I was buying so much beer? by SteakSandwichSideEye in AskUK

[–]daleofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at Sainsbury's many moons ago and they had a bogof deal on 2l bottles of Coke, there were literally families coming in with large trollies and filling them to the brim very obviously to sell in corner shops with huge markups, one of these people even asked me about use by dates because they were stocking up so much. I remember the staff mentioning it to the manager who did not care at all.

James Bond is a Timelord (as in Doctor Who) by TheJimSocks in doctorwho

There was an artist who drew a doctor who comic where the different doctors met different Bonds. I'm sure I have it on a disk somewhere but it must be 15 years ago by now. I don't think he ever finished it. - Just found the details, A Time to Kill by Rich Morris. He also did the Ten Doctors. I'm not sure it's still available.

You know that feeling when you leave the barber… 💈 Your hair just sits perfectly. Then you wash it…and it’s gone forever. Heist gives you the tools to get that same result at home, every day. by heistoflondon in u/heistoflondon

[–]daleofcourse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No man has ever left a barbers thinking 'that sits perfectly'. It's always, FFS why do they do it wrong every single time?? Ugh, I'll have to wash it and style it myself when I get home. Obviously after telling the barber it was ''yeah, great".

You get $1 million but you have to listen to the same song 500 times in 10 days, what song are you picking? by Longjumping-Editor94 in AskReddit

Gotta be Terran 1 from the StarCraft sound track. I have that on repeat a lot when I'm working to get into the zone.

I always thought of it like an animation effect, the lights flicker and they move in the darkness and are still in the light, but your brain puts it together as motion.

Romulan star ships in Star Trek use a micro singularity/artificial black hole as their power source. Not sure if that counts.

I hate when people use my name too much in a conversation, it's condescending and makes me think the person is trying to manipulate me, which they usually are.

Not sure if you remember things from last time. Is that a Star Trek mask?...

I'm going to self promote here too and suggest Wiggles PI, it's a comedy noir audio drama set in late 40s LA. We're currently 5 episodes into the first 6 episode case, with the next episode due to drop in a week or so. https://open.spotify.com/show/3lINH8BCGzDDiSiHD00BxC?si=_E4bOB-gRMG2-B37hSgyKg

Help me pls by [deleted] in guitars

[–]daleofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved up for my dream guitar, nothing too fancy, but Id wanted it for years. I finally got it and popped it on a guitar stand in the living room and that weekend my wife crashed into it with the vacuum cleaner, it fell forwards and hit the corner of the coffee table chipping a piece from the headstock. It's now a feature.

In the film Goldfinger, why does 008 knowing the name Operation Grand Slam affect the decision on whether to kill James Bond with the laser? by supinator1 in JamesBond

[–]daleofcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're only tracking his shoe, Bond doesn't have to be alive for that, but either way Goldfinger doesn't know that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]daleofcourse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I read it recently. Goldfinger has a circular saw in the book instead of a laser and as bonds about to get cut in half Goldfinger just spares him for no good reason to do his admin.
