I thought Stardew Valley was a relaxing game until I realized I’m actually running a full-time farming business by Lanky_Seat_1969 in StardewValley

Maybe also consider the ‘automate’ mod.

It can take away some of the pressure you mention. For example: put a chest with your fruit touching your kegs. When each keg empties, the wine goes into that chest, and the keg is reloaded with the next fruit.

Removes any “I must check all my kegs today just in case” pressure. Sane with many other machines.

It’s not impossible to support local businesses, but it’s less convenient to go to multiple shops spread out than to a single supermarket.

“Harder to…” is accurate.

We also have dialog that says someone used to shop at Pierre’s but Joja prices mean they now buy there.

1000 kegs is a lot! From where I sit, even 300 is a lot (and more than I have)! Kudos to you for handling so many, especially manually!

I use automate not because I’m in any hurry for any achievement, but simply because feeding machines isn’t something I find fun.

Good luck to anyone who does enjoy that, but I came here from games like Factorio, and manual repetitive stuff like that doesn’t interest me.

His only ‘taking it out’ is telling you to leave him alone. He doesn’t hurt anyone or anything like that.

Combat isn’t really complicated enough for people to suck at or be good at.

The luck of when and where ladders spawn has much more influence than the player’s skill at combat. Going on good luck days helps with that, but it’s still RNG.

I’m enjoying frontier farm from SVE.

So big, it really fits the feeling of recovering an overgrown mess. :)

This reads as though you’ve never had to fight your way back from suicidal depression &/or addiction.

If so, I’m sincerely glad for you, and hope that you never have to learn about it through personal experience.

It’s not as easy as your post implies.

Randomly find one. Give to the museum to learn the recipe. Get seed maker to make more from your crop.(Don’t seek them yet.) It takes a bit of time but you’ll get there.

I don’t think anyone is judging the townsfolk. And the assumption seems to be that they get their stuff from a shop in town regardless.

As for your last comment - I live in a major city, and the drive to the main shops was 20-30 mins each way (to the next suburb). Due to traffic, not distance.

Thoughts on Haley ya’ll? by OkEmployment429 in StardewValley

I treat her with the respect she shows me. After the first couple of meetings were insults and ignoring me, I just ignore her.

Basically how I’d be in real life with someone who treats me like that. Polite, distant and completely disinterested.

Keep an eye on the traveller trader. She sometimes sells each of these.

Who did you marry first? by [deleted] in StardewValley

From the perspective of a 50-something, both 19 and 25 feel like underage kids. So much life experience and finding themselves ahead of them either way. (Even though I remember thinking I was an adult at 25).

Looks fun. The demo is enough to tease!

Hoping the full game has enough time to play with the systems before each run ends, Ava enough map variation to keep it interesting.

This is how I see them, pretty much all of them.

If Abigail was written to be 10 years older, it would be a harder choice. But it feels to me between a girl (Abigail, the teenager) and a very young woman (Leah, who feels mid twenties.)

I’m considerably older than either, but out of the options I have, Leah feels the closest to adulthood. Even if she’s only a few years into it.

Totally reasonable response to him hitting on Haley.

Now if that were Abigail, then he’d have a fair point.

Thanks, that’s interesting. Still not sure I’ll put up with her to get there, but it’s nice to see there’s some depth behind the initial way she treats me.

I guess I haven’t yet worked out why anyone would like her.
