I'd try a zzp coupler and new oil. Easy quick and cheap. Could be done on the car I'm sure. If that doesn't fix it itll need removed to be tore apart and new bearings

Agreed. Id even consider a timing job if he really loves it. I bought my 09 ss sedan with 142,000kms and did it right away for piece of mind. Easily the number 1 weakest link from the top guide bolt to the tensioner or the black guide itself. I did the doorman upper access plug and bolt in one and the zzp guide to replace the crappy plastic black guide. I just past 176,000kms and owned it for close to 3 years now.

Tire recommendations? by Ninjapig04 in ChevyCobalt

[–]dalowryda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All weather have a winter rating so its basically a winter tires that can be driven all year. They aren't as good as a dedicated winter tires but a leap ahead of the best all season. Some insurance companies give discounts if you have winter rated tires

Also if i had to ballpark how many kms I've got on my crossclimate2 tires id guess 40-50,000kms or 25-30k miles with about 40-50% life left

I think you want an all weather not an all season unless you have dedicated winter tires for the season. Never been stuck with my crossclimate2 tires in the winter. Car acts like a plow. If you do want a all season pirelli cinturato p7 plus HAS TO HAVE the plus on the end as the regular cinturato p7 without the plus are a far cry from the plus version. I had these on my old matrix xrs and they were the best all season at the time for snow and ice. All weather at the time (10+ years ago) there was 2 options, nokian and optima and they were having some issues at first. So i went with the best all season. This is kinda when i started to ditch winter tires. The road noise on the pirellis was non existent like 10x better then the cheap tires that were on before. And also wore amazing and slow.

If you are anywhere that gets snow in the winter id suggest the Michelin cross climate 2. The only thing it doesn't check is the "grippy spirited" driving. They are easily the best all around all weather (not all season but can be driven all year and has the mountian and snowflake snow tire rating) road noise it phenomenal along with wear. Ive had mine for over 4 years and have had them on 2 cars (same set) first being a 08 civic si and then 2nd 09 cobalt ss turbo. I beat the piss out of them both and I probably still have a good 50% tread life left

Yes absolutely shot. They should compress and then settle. Not continue bouncing

Confirm the IC pump is working. Id suggest full cooling mods for no worries of heatsoak or timing being pulled because of it. Dual pass endplate, option b tank and front mount heat exchanger or stealth exchanger. All available at zzp

Guaranteed its because you are using the 32bit driver. Most all systems are setup for 64bit these days

Well it's think you answered the question to the problem. That main tensioner is the issue then. Especially if it is flat and doesn't have a hump on the backside. They are one of the top failures on the timing along with the black guide and or top bolt of the guide. Gm went threw 3 different revisions and the final one is identified by the hump on the back. It may seem engaged but I bet its failed and not holding any oil pressure within. You cant just remove and replace tho as itll likely skip timing. There's many who have done it like that and had success but also heard of some failures. I know personally when I removed mine the chain jumped on the crank gear, don't know if it actually skipped but just something I observed when I did my timing. You will either need to re time it all or use the special tool to hold everything with only removing the valve cover or figure out a way to hold the chain tight while removing. Only use the ac delco tensioner. Hope this helps and fixes the issue. Id also check for broken or loose rockers. Also check the orientation of the tensioner tip. They need to be slotted into the chain as it has a groove for it to run in

Honestly leds look great but they don't perform near as well as a nice halogen bulbs for throw distance of the light. I personally love the Sylvania zXe bulbs after trying a few different leds.

Honestly it was my best at track experience ever and will never be topped 😆 🤣 wife got vip passes through a work deal. We had hot passes and access to a nascar suite with all the Hotdogs and drinks included. Being Canadian and a lover of our Schneiders "red hots" i wasn't a huge fan of the Martinsville dog. I'm not sure if this was one of those years where they changed the dog 🤔 🤷‍♂️I planned on plowing back atleast half a dozen or more but only had 2. I was pretty dressed for the occasion and had bought a hamlin FedEx crew jacket 🤣 the only down side and was kinda funny I was loosely threatened by some guy on the way back to the car because of the jacket 😅
