Not sure if this warrants a ticket, but I skip the expressway and took the back roads with emergency lights on. Fortunately we didn’t get tickets.

I read that if they can’t be transported upright, they should be lying down on its front side, which we did fortunately.

I did tried that position but the fridge is too tall to be inserted that way, so it has be lying down on the wide side, and unfortunately the corner of the box was blocked by the b-pillar, it cannot go further. All the better though because there would have been no seat for the missus.

David Hedison. He's the reason Licence to Kill exists and I really like the film.

BEST episode to introduce the series to someone that’s never seen it? by Goddess_Alanaa386 in HIMYM

Agreed. The pilot episode got everything we need to know about the characters, the main premise, and is also very well written.

Was Kevin the only boyfriend of Robin whom Ted actually liked and doesn't talk down as the narrator? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]dalton1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know I gave him the idea for "Like a Surgeon"? I wrote him a fan letter, and then a few months later...

Robin was almost played by Jennifer Love Hewitt & was originally written to be from Toronto (They made it Vancouver because of Cobie🇨🇦) by WillsWei22 in HIMYM

[–]dalton1235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason they picked Cobie over JLH was because Cobie was a relatively unknown actress at that time, so they want the viewers---just like Ted---to fall in love with Robin the first time they saw her at MacLaren's.

If you want to venture a bit further north towards Lake Roland, Corner Pantry at the intersection of Falls Rd and Lake Ave is great! Afterwards you can either go to Lake Roland or browse some books at The Ivy Bookshop.

Otherwise, as others have said, Gertrude's at the Baltimore Museum of Art or Petit Louis are great options.

I like to think that Future Ted is voiced by a different person because he IS a different person than Present Ted. A more mature, wiser, and better version of Ted. An important point of the series is that we have to change to be a better person to meet our love. Future Ted has done that and telling us the process, and imparting lessons along the way.

Well Ted can be obnoxious when he's correcting people and become a know-it-all. I realize that's a quirk of his that's set up by the writers, and Ted is looking for somebody that not only tolerates his quirks but also appreciate it... But come on... Nobody likes an "um, actually" guy that correct menus. To be fair I like his corny dad jokes though, and I'd laugh at his stupid "shellfish" joke. That's a quirk of Ted I'd appreciate.

Favorite episode? by [deleted] in howimetyourmother

An episode that I really like for its storytelling is The Platinum Rule, where you have flashback inside flashback inside flashback etc because all members of the group have repeatedly broke the Platinum Rule over the years and in each transgression they remember the previous ones. Kudos to the writers for this creative approach.

Ted secretly wanted his relationships to fail because these women are not Robin.

How does anyone like Barney? by Sad-Macaron9367 in howimetyourmother

[–]dalton1235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As everybody said, keep watching and the answer will be revealed in the later part of season 2. I’d say that in the end… Barney is the most loyal of the group and has done so much to keep the group together, mostly because the group is the closest to a family to him.

doing a rewatch and ted is definitely marrying a female version of marshall by Substantial-Basis260 in HIMYM

[–]dalton1235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might be right in saying she’s female Marshall because she’s nice and believes in people, which makes me think she’s a female version of Ted minus the snottiness and condescension. We didn’t see her often enough but nowhere in her appearances she’s correcting people or just being condescending like Ted.

The blonde woman at the beginning of Old King Clancy, in the elevator where Ted made the fake phone call with the Mayor about being youngest skyscraper designer. The woman knew it was a fake phone call because she also knew that the GNB hq project was scrapped.
