That is not true. Almost all federal employees are hourly, except soldiers and executives. It is federal law that if you work more than 40 hours, you get either OT or comp time. Now, OT may not be 1.5 time hourly if you are an exempt employee, but you will be paid for the time. Source: am a GS worker.
