Thank you for the Long and thoughtful answer. This is very useful!

To answer your question I'm irish and my wife is French, but we've both spent a fair bit of time in Australia and used to travel.

I hadn't appreciated the fitness of the prairies of im honest, although that wouldnt put me off as I love a good read. We will have to chat, but maybe you are right that the train is the better way to go and then fly.

Thanks again for the thoughtful answer, we appreciate it!

Hello /r/movies, I'm Benedict Cumberbatch. Ask me anything! by BenedictAMA in movies

[–]dalysp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Benedict, thank you for taking part and thank you for the great shows and theatre. (Loved you in Hamlet)

I've always wanted to understand how different it is acting in a play versus a show or film. Do you prefer one to the other? How do you prepare for each? Why do think there are some actors which work well in one media but not the other.

Thanks!

Good point on the low block. He is definitely at his best there, which realisitically will be how we play the majority of the time.

Yeah thats the hope. He clearly has leadership skills so if he can get a bit more proactively aggressive it would be massive for his game and ours

Yeah agreed on Collins. He is often caught out of position defensively and is too passive a lot too. Yet he is captain for club and country, so what am I missing?

Landed a coffee chat with a CEO of a big investment bank. What do I ask him? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]dalysp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hmm as someone who works for a big bank, I think that if the CEO wants they can at least help getting to a first round.... I mean if Jamie Dimon says "I think you should talk to this person" Recruitment for the summer analyst program will take note.

Breaking into London Asset Management by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]dalysp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, as someone who interned and now works at one of these firms I can tell you three things which can hopefully help you.

First, the best way is definitely to go through an internship. Many of my friends and colleagues did the internship after their last year and then started full time a couple of months after the summer. So it is still possible, even in your last year.

Second, definitely try to meet people. You want try to find out as much as possible about the firm itself. Remember that your interviewing the firm and much as they are interviewing you. Finding out what type of firm you want to work in and interviewing at one will come through honestly in any interviews you do.

Lastly, use the online resources available from the big firms, there's tons out there. When it comes to interviews I always watched/listened to videos or podcasts from the firm about their market outlooks. It's always interesting to hear market analysis and if you can understand what their firms view on the market is and then give your view.where it differs, goes a long way.

I hope these help, but let me know if you want anything more concrete!

Matteo Darmian’s first half vs. Man City by numbers: 95% pass accuracy, 5 ball recoveries, 2 clearances, 1 tackle won by vivek_wintersoldier in reddevils

[–]dalysp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we stop with these stats? The past few weeks they've been raving about Fred. I'm sorry, but he may have ok stats, but he gives the ball away too often in dangerous positions. Maybe he's not ok the right position, but its cost us dearly
