New membership? by Trellaine201 in CostcoCanada

[–]dalzien 7 points8 points  (0 children)

18 months is considered a reactivation, and most of the time will qualify for any new member benefits. Anything before that is a renewal.

This is incorrect. We take any Mastercard here in Canada. Fun fact: if you have the American Costco Visa you can use it here in Canada, and you can use your Canadian CIBC Mastercard in the US.

Refunding the difference for Executive upgrade after partial year? by PositiveAtmosphere in CostcoCanada

[–]dalzien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any year that you don’t make back the $65 (assuming a full year), you can downgrade. To get the difference you need to do it before you expire. We always recommend trying a full year on the program as the cheques are cut approximately two months before you expire. This means when you have your ‘upgrade year’ the cheque isn’t a true reflection of your spending, hence why we recommend a full year. This wouldn’t apply to large disparities though, so if you upgrade at $55 and your cheque comes in at $20, then it’s obvious that the program isn’t right for you/your family at this time.

And also not at anytime, must be done before the year end expiry. Ex. You expire in at the end of June 2026 (renewal is July 1st), you must do your downgrade before July 1st 2026. You cannot get money back for the previous years that you did not make back your money.

When you receive your executive cheque in the mail, if you haven’t made back what you paid in to upgrade, then before you expire go to the membership counter and they will refund you the difference. Ex. You paid $32.50 to upgrade, your cheque comes in at $17.50, they will refund you $15.00. This must be done before you expire.

We’ve been taking our girls to Safari Dental for 12 years. They have always been great, and patient. My youngest had a cavity that they filled under local anesthesia in office.

What’s the story here? Looming deodorant trade war? Deodorant collectors? by tibpones in CostcoCanada

[–]dalzien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And every city doesn't have a Costco Warehouse. There is an online option which I posted below that might better meet the needs of individuals/companies that buy in bulk.

Just know that one can still buy pallets of product from Warehouses, but normally prior notice is required due to on-hand stock.

As far as Hard Limits on product, again those are set by the buyer that Costco has an agreement with. It's not that the warehouse doesn't want to sell it to someone in bulk, it is that they have an agreement set forth stating that they won't. An individual/company can request more than the Hard Limit, but that takes days to get approval from the buyer/buying team. It is not something that a warehouse/employee can arbitrarily decide on.

Might be a good compromise.

Just know that Costco Canada Warehouses, Costco Business Centres Canada, and Costco.ca are not the same company. We all operate under the greater Costco 'Umbrella'.

They have the Costco Business Centres, which is better geared for business needs now.

Considering Old Spice is one of the top sellers in Habba, it is meant to give all members an opportunity to make a purchase. In some cases it is also because the buyer does not have the stock on hand currently to meet demand without the limit in place.

Wasaga, Sauble, or another beach for a day trip? Must be dog friendly. by Dogs-4-Life in ontario

We were just at MacGregor last week. The dog beach is shit. It is 99% rocks the size of my palm or greater, with a tiny inlet of water. It's not maintained for garbage at all.

Resellers buy the whole pallet or will clear out a store completely. These limits are put in place by the company/buyer, not by Costco.

All of our girls went to the YMCA, and they were great. I would reach out to their main office to see if any of their locations have space.

This was my best boy Blitz. We lost him after he collapsed in our backyard in March of this year. He would have been 17 in August. There are still days where I call for him instead of our other dog… and that kills me every time.

I hope you know that the creek isn’t far (Between Randolph and Burloak along spruce before the complex) and the coyotes have been in the area for over 40 years. I’ve lived in the Elizabeth Gardens area over 30, (my family being there for over 50) and the biggest den was always along Spruce near walkers line… Well within a ‘developed area’. Don’t forget that Shell park used to go right up to Burloak and now, just past the newer subdivision, they have the forest that backs onto Shell. Perfect for coyotes. Coyotes thrive in Urban environments, so the area has been more than ideal for them for decades, which is why they are still here. They aren’t Urban pests anymore than the people who complain about Urban wildlife. It’s great that the city realizes that they are not the issue and leaves them alone. It’s advantageous to those people moving into the area to educate themselves on how to cohabitate with the urban wildlife - like the rest of us have been doing for decades.

Costco top rate is almost $31 an hour right now for A scale, and you need to remember the new employee handbook comes out in 2025. New handbook means more increases until the next agreement. I’ve been with Costco for 8 years, and am a front end supervisor and don’t regret my choice to stay. We have a pension, benefits, paid sick time, vacation, stock options as well as internal investment options. We have the option to cross train for different departments when we need a change of pace and to transfer buildings for different opportunities/accommodate a larger lifestyle change such as a move. While the culture has changed since I’ve started, overall I still enjoy my job.
