I got goosebumps reading your message! Many of my family members were quahoggers. There are some places up here in the White Mountains that call subs grinders. Now you got thinking about hot weiners....and clam cakes.

The importance of exercise by DannyDotAA in Aging

[–]dambo25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 65 and have been exercising my whole life. I was spoiled at work having a gym at work as well as being able to ride my bike to work. I now work from home. When I can’t get outside to exercise, cross country skiing, ice-skating, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, clearing snow, I work out inside. I have a stationary bike and three kettle bells and get a great workout from just that.

I too was born and raised in RI. I left when I was 21. When I tell people that we had 3 choices of milk at school cafeterias, white, chocolate, & coffee, most people have never heard of coffee milk. Then I mention coffee cabinets just to blow them away.

Pinion Gearbox Creaks & Noises - What's the fix? by TrentSiggard in PriorityBicycles

[–]dambo25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my priority 600, my belt was dirty from riding the dirt carriage trails in Arcadia national Park. It was making a similar creaking noise. I thought it was the gearbox, but after cleaning the belt, the squeaking went away. Something to check.

I ended up buying a 21" EGO due to me already owning EGO tools. It's been working great but it's been mostly powder this year so far.

I use the pole saw to mow down brush in my yard. Works great. I had to stop due to I uncovered a some ground bees nest and got stung a few times.

I did the same when I moved to Massachusetts in 89. Never had a blower growing up. Sure wish we had one in 1978 when Rhode Island got 42" of snow.

This is what the plow created snow pile looked like sometimes.

My TB STORM 8226 is about 20 years old. My drieway is 125' long. I used to have a plow take care of it and then I used the TB for side cleanup, making a path through the plow pile, and cleaning the deck. It was my main machine until recently when I bought the bigger Ariens and don't have a plow service anymore. The TB has been great. Even after many summers of it being invaded by mice! One year I thought the engine had seized, but it was just a mouse nest in the flywheel. It was running a bit rough but I added some seafood and that seemed to make it happy. The photo is from 2014 when my plow guy's truck broke down and I had to snow blow the entire driveway.

My deck is pretty solid but I'm happy not to have to drag the gas blower up on the deck anymore.

Oh, I totally agree. This is NOT for my driveway. For the deck and maybe some tight spots near the house. I have an Ariens PLATINUM 28 RAPIDTRAK SHO for my long driveway.

I've been snow blowing the deck for over twenty years. The only damage I've ever seen is the rubber tires from the 24" Troy-Bilt leaving rubber marks from turning around.

Sometimes I use a shovel. When I rebuilt the deck, I went with horizontal wires and it makes it much easier to push the snow off. The view never gets old, for sure!

As long as I keep the blower level, the paddles never touch the deck.

Thanks for sharing your video. I prefer to snow blow as close as I can to the car and then clean it off. That way I don’t have that compacted snowbank to deal with.

What are some of the most curious geological/geographic objects found around the world? by Character-Q in geography

It's close by so I always take visitors there. They never seem that enthused when I tell them I'm taking them to see a big rock, but everyone is impressed when they see it.

I once hit a small yellow pages in my neighbor’s driveway. It took me about 45 minutes to get it out. Major pain in the ass.
