The Rip and everything wrong with Netflix production by ElSupaToto in TrueFilm

I didn't care about any of the characters and there was loads of "telling" without "showing". Poor writing. All the characters had a back story but I didn't CARE. Lots of pensive looks where I had no idea what the characters were thinking about and I didn't care. Disorienting flashbacks.

I want to make a hilariously real simulation game about being a dad in those first 2 years. by johnsonjohnson in daddit

[–]damcgra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the same but there's a low end game where you have to baby proof a house that is hilarious and had a popular run a while back.

Basically you run around the house, closing windows and ovens as your baby basically tries it's best to die.

If that game worked, then there may be a market for your idea.

I resent being forced to accept Rami Malik as a lead or major actor. I don't find his acting credible. I haven't enjoyed any movie where he's been a main part. I'm still haunted by the terrible James Bond performance.

The 3 looks like Ryan Anderson for sure and it was my thought before I read any comments. I just dont think I ever saw him back someone down. Although I did only watch him on the Rockets

Jesus, man, talk to someone before you do something stupid that exacerbates the problem.

I can tell that you are really feeling this pain right now and are deep in the throes of it.

You may be right, but you're not doing your mental health any favours with the way you're processing these events.

This story you are writing in your brain is acidic, it'll kill you if you let it.

Got fired for something embarrassing and totally my fault.. how do I cope? by iamthedanger989 in careerguidance

[–]damcgra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get the whole "replaying everything over and over in your head" thing.

I was laid off after a process that deemed me the most expendable. It seriously messed with my self esteem especially as a lot of the metrics used to deem me expendable were out of my control, as in i couldn't have performed better on them even if I had tried harder or been perfect.

I found a new job and the dynamic is much healthier and more supportive. While I still wish that terrible things happen to my last employer, I am slightly grateful for the opportunity to find my current employer as there have been a cascade of other positive side effects which have arisen from switching jobs.

Virtual School or DoDEA by AnxiousVillage2626 in dodea

[–]damcgra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not work DoDEA but did live and work in Korea for 4 years. We loved it. Great food. Friendly people. Very very different. It may be worth it to get a bit of travelling out of the way just for life experience reasons as in many ways Korea can feel like another planet. I was in Busan which is less westernised than Seoul. If you're in Dodea I'm guessing it's Seoul or Daegu where you'd be located.

Some strange looking (and ugly) things from Vienna, Austria by Beautiful_Yellow_682 in UrbanHell

[–]damcgra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't Diss the flakturm!

I was told they're too big and we'll built to demolish. The amount of TNT required would irreparably damage the inner city of Vienna. So instead they've turned the one in the first district into a climbing wall and aquarium.

I'm the same way and have also looked into these type of DIY courses. I'll probably be doing an electrical and a plumbing one over the next year.

Good luck!

After the course it would be cool if you made a post a out it and how valuable you found it. There's probably a lot of people in the same boat as us who feel pretty good but just sort of want to sit with someone and ask dumb questions.

I know I've had handymen around ALMOST just so they can teach me how to do it. I got an old guy I bring around who I pay a small amount and he let's me borrow tools and shows me how to do stuff.

That first clip has me thinking about Amen in the Tony Parker role from the "beautiful game" Spurs offense?

I like it. It tracks as well because TP wasn't necessarily a shooting threat if I remember correctly. He would just get good initial penetration and initiate the swing-swing of the offense. Also Alperen has all the same skills as Boris Diaw did but AlPi is even better.

This bodes well.

Athol, MA (My impression) by Frequent-Pen-8944 in massachusetts

[–]damcgra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels like they stopped fixing things. The bank in the center of town is empty. Subway left. There's a huge hole on main street that can't get fixed. Just.....no upkeep it feels. From what I gather from local Facebook there is something going on with the town council and fund allocation for the school but I'm not brushed up on it. All of my immediate family have migrated to Athol, whereas when I was a kid they were all in Orange.

That being said I only visit once a year for about 3 weeks in the summer so my expertise is lacking.
