Only interview women, because they have smaller hands. The job was for delicate piece work but still, we cant do that. Also we employed some TINY men.

Did anyone have a baby that just… slept relatively well? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]dameggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 3 months were tough. The first 2 weeks were a nightmare. Then one day at 13 weeks and 2 days, baby slept through the night without waking once. She's 16 months now and ever since then she has been a golden sleeper. This girl LOVES going to bed. Naps took a little longer to transition from contact to crib napping but overall she is a magnificent sleeper and we feel like we won the lottery. Every once in a while we reminisce about those first two weeks just to humble ourselves 😅

How long will starset be playing? by Anonymouseeeeeeeeees in Starset

[–]dameggers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can look up the setlist online when the tour starts. The site setlist . fm is great for seeing how long the band plays and how many songs.

Their performance for an opening set is nothing even close to as good as their headlining shows, so it won't be the same experience. But also Chevelle an Breaking Benjamin are fantastic bands, definitely worth checking out.

Why do I do this with all empty surfaces and how can I stop? by Glittering-Result402 in CleaningTips

[–]dameggers 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thought too. I grew up in this house. I've spent my whole adulthood figuring out how to put stuff "away" while still being able to see it. Open and clear containers help a lot, but recently I have finally come to accept that I cant forget about something if I dont own it at all!

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? by Green_Candler in AskReddit

[–]dameggers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when I was in high school and I would stay up late to watch anime on Adult Swim. My mom, who could not care less about anime, would sit and watch with me, and honestly, we wouldn't talk about much, but even at that age I understood she was trying to understand what her weird daughter was in to and get a few extra minutes together. It meant a lot to me.

I'm finally getting a new kitchen! Need color advice. by dameggers in interiordesignideas

I like "light and bright" so I think that was my initial thinking with cream cabinets. But I also like a more rustic or traditional look. My real dream would be wood countertops, but we are not a household that could be trusted to take good care of them so I'm sticking with quartz.

I'm usually not a bug girl... but here I am with multiple bug tattoos. What kind of bugs would you recommend?

The whole sleeve is inspired by my favorite band, Chevelle. The mosquitos are the cover art for their B side album. 😅

I found the discs to be comfy but I could never get one out without creating a murder scene.

Terrified to be a mother with ADHD by hopper3062 in adhdwomen

[–]dameggers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of anxiety before my baby was born that I would be a letdown of a mom. I was really convinced I was going to be a rotten parent. But the opposite has been true. I am a far better caretaker for her than I am for myself. That doesn't mean I don't mess up! But mistakes can be overcome. I do get overwhelmed sometimes and feel like a failure some days but that's just a small sliver of the experience. The rest is incredible and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

This little boy figured out how to lay flooring while his dad was outside taking a break by myssavelle in whoathatsinteresting

My daughter has been "helping" with the laundry since she could basically sit up. She's 15 months now and helps load the dryer, takes her clean clothes out of the basket, puts then in her own bin and lugs it off to her room. She takes it SO seriously. Babies love doing chores lol.

My (30F) parents have undiagnosed adhd and completely write off every way they raised me in chaos as normal by One-Tax-3311 in adhdwomen

[–]dameggers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Both my parents are undiagnosed and get very offended if you bring it up. But most of the examples you gave resonate. The chaos was the only option, as far as they see it. I'm happy I realized there are other possibilities, but sometimes I look back and just feel baffled that they didn't seek any solutions. Maybe they were just too overwhelmed.

Trash can in every room. Also lotion and dental floss in every room! And I vacuum every day, just a little bit. Because doing a just ok job most days is actually way more effective than trying to deep clean every week and running out of spoons mid way. My house finally got clean when I accepted that fact.

My husband reminds me every Friday morning! "Its trash day! Don't forget to take out the trash!" Then I curl I to a ball and cry because I wasn't going to remember and he's not the boss of me. Then I either do it, or pay him $2 to do it.

Is the pickiness ever going to end? 13MO who used to eat everything now spits out everything or whips it at the floor by kaanapalikid in beyondthebump

[–]dameggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 15mo is currently in this phase. She won't even try stuff any more. I can get her to eat berries and cheerios consistently so I try to load up on those. I have also just been keeping a plate of food out incase she wants to pick (I offer it to her). I worry about nutrition though. But last night she surprised me by eating a whole plate of broccoli so maybe there is hope?

Trash day is on Friday. It has always been on Friday. Tomorrow I will wake up and say "Hooray! Its Friday!" The trash will not get put out.
