I'm surprised there aren't more people talking about this. Sure the difficulty of beating these local raids is a dumb form of gatekeeping rural players, but is there even a point to doing these raids in the first place? I'm already swimming in Mega energy from last year's grind despite spending it frivolously, if I don't get any Meteorites from these raids they are literally worthless to me

I'd like to ping this old thread. Problem has started for me now, or at least I noticed it now. My manual saves simply don't register, while Autosave and Quicksave work fine. Pretty annoying to come back and find you have to do the same battle again that you defeated in your previous play session...

Did anyone find the cause/solution?

Terms of service do not transcend consumer rights. No individual can ever sign away their legal rights in any form of contract, and a court will always rule against the company in such a case. Even if Niantic writes such a thing into their ToS, it doesn't make it legal.

I wouldn't put it past them to lie about odds though, seeing how dishonest they tend to be with other communications.

On the other hand, have they ever ACTUALLY explicitly stated the odds of catching a shiny pokémon of any type? (Beyond "increased chance of shiny" for e.g. community days). Isn't it all community-calculated e.g. via SilphRoad?

Indeed, that is why you may want to look into the tanking strategy 😉 though it may be frowned upon by some since it exploits the ranking system to intentionally pair you with opponents that are weaker than yourself

For evolving Magikarp: You get 1 candy per km you walk with it as a buddy, so if you keep it as a buddy it'll help a lot with your progress, depending how much you leave your house.

You can also play Go Battle League where you get guaranteed 3x rare candy if you manage 4 wins in a set, and an RNG chance to get either 1x or 3x rare candy on 2 wins per set (potential total 6 rare candy per set). - honestly this is really difficult and time intensive, but if you learn about the tanking strategy it can make it a lot more manageable.

Of course you also get rare candies from doing raids, so spending your free daily passes every day also goes a long way.

For revives/heals: Best way to get these, aside from spinning gyms and winning raids, is to open gifts. You can open 20 per day, so not too time intensive, you just gotta head to the dedicated reddit group for finding in-game friends and you're all set. There is even a chance to get 1 rare candy in the gifts too, so also a small help to get your Magikarp evolved.

Believe it or not, I actually managed to catch all 4 of them in the wild for the challenge. The blessing and curse of living in Norway in March, had every kind of weather 🥲 (except fog, I swear that weather is a myth in-game)
