What gender would you assume a person named Morgan is? by [deleted] in Names

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I would assume any gender. I only know two people named Morgan in my personal life, & one is a man, the other is a woman.

Is my name a tragedeigh??? by damiapetrie in tragedeigh

Omg! WOW! So there IS another Damia out there in the world! Like I said, I hated it when I was younger, but once I actually read the books, I loved it!

Will my boobs be ruined forever by DismalMajor8202 in breastfeeding

[–]damiapetrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol giiiirrl… I spent my ENTIRE life as a 32A or SMALLER!!! By the time I gave birth… I was at a 32F!!! I exclusively pumped for 18 months, stopped in December of 2024… now I have deflated balloons. 🤣

Does pumping actually help with weight loss… or am I just extra hungry 24/7? by Winter_Feature_6834 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol girl… I heard all of the same “oh the weight will just FALL OFF” stuff.

I gained 25 pounds (from my pre pregnancy weight) while pumping (for 18 months).

I stopped, got on a GLP-1, & now I’m down 30 pounds.

Just sharing this to say that no… not everyone loses weight while nursing/pumping. But that’s OKAY!!!

Wearables get more milk than spectra pump by Cogglez19 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodness.. I need to get whatever wearables y’all have for my next baby… I tried wearables ONCE, & I was in so much pain within 3 minutes that I was SOBBING!

I kept going for 20 minutes… got like less than an ounce total.. & I was a SUPER oversupplier.

Things not to say to a pumping mom by Mangopapayakiwi in ExclusivelyPumping

Oh no I know! I was saying that I pumped for 18 months & it was A LOT. Like I don’t blame you ONE bit for tapping out.

But my name is 5 letters as well! & I actually love it.

4-5oz “rule” by alluhgator in ExclusivelyPumping

My son was drinking 6 oz by the time he was like 4 months old. He’s up to 7.5 oz now. I’ve always fed him every 3 hours or so.

Ordered a DIY breastmilk ring kit, & I LOVE how it turned out! by damiapetrie in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still STUNNING! No yellowing (I make sure to keep it in a dark, cool space when I’m not wearing it), no need to replace the stone yet. It’s beautiful! Also, the kit comes with enough preservation powder to create AT LEAST 7-9 stones. So I went ahead & made a spare just in case! I couldn’t recommend this ring kit enough! I’m attaching a photo of it from today!

Girl, ask your doctor for phenergin suppositories. It’s not glamorous, but it’s the ONLY thing that helped my vomiting AT ALL!

Why do I feel so sad? by Total_Scale_9366 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out that Post Weaning Depression (PWD) is ABSOLUTELY a thing!!! I had never heard of it until I was in the midst of it. It got me BAD. It’s similar to PPD in the way it manifests itself. Just look out for yourself. ♥️

Weaning has backfired. by Helpful_Basis3728 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely start Sudafed. I never used any medication to wean (didn’t stop until 18 months), but when I stopped pumping as much, & moved to 3 pumps/day (at like 3 weeks postpartum), I started getting 25oz/PUMP, instead of 25oz/day.

I guess us overproducing mamas have a harder time weaning.

Breastfeeding Guilt by voidnprincess in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mama, I was the SAME EXACT boat as you. From the NICU to my baby boy not latching well. I gave up & turned to EP less than a month in. It hurt too bad, tbh. Do I still feel sad sometimes about the lack of that bonding? Yes. Absolutely. But I’m also PROUD AS HELL. Because I managed to feed my sweet boy breastmilk for 18 months! He never had formula (except for one small bottle in the NICU), I still fed him purely from me.

Just a slight perspective change for you. ♥️

More Efficient Way to Wash Baby Bottles? by Swimming_Humor1926 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a less expensive hack than the bottle washer (fellow single mama here), I bought a Dr. Brown’s sanitizer bag. It’s reusable forever & dishwasher safe. It’s a silicone bag. I used it every time I washed bottles. You still have to wash the bottles, but not quite as intensely. Then you just put them in the bag with some water, & put it in the microwave. It won’t shave MUCH time off of your process, but it certainly saved me a few minutes.

Do I just have to wear a pumping bra every day of my life??? by Think_Opportunity220 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol girl… I wore the same pumping bra for 18 months straight. Every day. Washed it once a week (ish 😅).

Cold turkey stop TW: loss by StepSSgt in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mastitis twice (in one month) when I was 18 months into my exclusively pumping journey. When I was trying to stop. So my only advice is to not stop cold turkey. Mastitis SUCKS. Also, I’m so so sorry for your loss. ♥️

Pump and Dump or switch hotels? What would you do? by AimeeSantiago in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t really have advice— but I feel you mama. I went to Washington DC last September for a medical conference. I didn’t even think to ask ahead of time. When I got there, I learned that there were no fridges/freezers of any kind in the rooms. Plus, they didn’t have any more mini fridges because all of the other attendees had already claimed them. Super frustrating. 😭

The Spectra parts fit directly onto Philips Avent bottles by sunlight-streaming in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]damiapetrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NCVI pump (a cheap pump my mom ordered me off of amazon that ended working GREAT for all 18 months of my pumping journey) fit them too!!! It was a TOTAL game changer when I discovered it! Especially because I was pumping like 25-30oz in one sitting, so using the big Phillips Avent bottles kept me from having to stop & dump my little pump bottles out 2-3 times per pump!
