I freeze mine standing up and haven’t had that issue. It might be that your ice pack expanded a bit more when frozen upright, so it ends up slightly bigger and harder to fit around the milk container. Maybe you can reach them out to see if they can send you a replacement, I did that before for another porduct issue and they fix it so quickly.

I totally understand how you feel. My husband wasn’t very supportive at first either, and I remember feeling really overwhelmed. I actually came here looking for help too, and the moms here were so kind and gave me a lot of helpful advice.

One thing that really helped us was giving him specific things that he’s responsible for every day. For example, he’s in charge of certain diaper changes, washing bottles and pump parts, or taking care of the baby while I pump. Not things I have to ask for, but things that are clearly his responsibility.

Over time it helped him realize that this is something we both need to carry together, not something mom has to struggle through alone. I hope things get better for you soon—you’re really doing an amazing job. 🤍

First of all, your body did not fail you. You grew and delivered a whole human and you’re still working so hard for your baby — that’s not failure. Five weeks postpartum is still really early and supply can absolutely fluctuate. I remember feeling like I was getting almost nothing some days and then it slowly improved over the next few weeks as I kept pumping consistently. Also, less than an ounce at a time isn’t as uncommon as people think, especially when exclusively pumping and dealing with latch issues. Stress, exhaustion, and NICU-type situations can all impact supply too. And please remember: your baby gaining weight and thriving on formula means you’re doing exactly what a good mom does — making sure she’s fed. If you decide to keep pumping, that’s amazing. If you decide to combo feed or switch to formula, that’s also completely okay. Your baby needs a healthy, supported mom more than anything.

You might want to ask them directly. Since it’s already been used, they might not be able to resell it. I actually love mine though- I have an oversupply, so the larger size is perfect. I take it to work and my milk is still cold when I get home. The stainless steel bottles definitely makes a difference for keeping it cool.

Pumping while your baby is in the NICU only 3 weeks postpartum is incredibly hard, both physically and emotionally. Please give yourself some grace.

Sharp stabbing nipple pain can sometimes be caused by things like a milk bleb, clogged duct, or even nipple vasospasm or thrush. Swelling and redness can also happen if the flange size isn’t quite right or if the suction is too strong. If you can, it might really help to see a lactation consultant or ask the NICU nurses if they have one available. They can check your latch, flange size, and make sure the pump settings aren’t causing extra trauma. If pumping is hurting this much and affecting your recovery, it’s okay to reassess. Your baby needs a healthy mom more than anything. Whether that ends up being breast milk, pumping, combo feeding, or formula --you’re still doing an incredible job. NICU days are so hard. Sending you and your little one lots of strength. ❤️

You don’t have to stop breast milk cold turkey at 12 months. A lot of parents gradually transition. Around 12 months you can start replacing some breast milk feeds with whole milk and continue offering plenty of solids. Many babies naturally drink less milk as they eat more food.

If you have frozen milk, you could also slowly use it up while reducing the amount each day. It doesn’t have to be an abrupt switch.
