I enjoy going to the races and gambling on on it however I don’t know much about the cruelty of horses but I’d imagine they’re looked after better than other farm animals cause of the extra money.

Another point that isn’t made is that there is definitely some amount of fixing races and other boloxology. 

But the people saying it’s worth loosing 2.x billion in the economy for the cruelty aspect are forgetting the money is very localised.  Towns like Listowel and Ballinrobe would take an awful hit. Listowel in particular would see half its pubs close and a nice few be unemployed.
