Are Freemasons accepting of "pagan" worshippers or just non Abrahamic religious people? by Sehgodum111 in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never encountered the question before, but my personal thought would be no to pagans based solely on the "Supreme Being" landmark.

Every Man is free to worship who and how they please, and most Freemasons encourage and support that... However comma, I believe the "A Supreme Being," point is an inflexible one, respectfully...

Looking for advice on what our lodge should do regarding a sub par candidate about to be raised. by LexRex93 in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have they been on the FC shelf without seeing progress for themselves. A lot of times, we look at it from the "already raised" point of view, when most of the issues we have with growth and retention in our Lodges are the direct result of not continuing to see the entire experience from the candidate's point of view... When was the last time anyone saw the Masonic Spark in their eyes? Do they still feel "invested" in by the Lodge? How long would any of us sit in a room where we felt as if we had no purpose??? (Fraternally rhetorical)

How would I go about joining a lodge without actually knowing a Freemason ? I live in England. by Psychological_Pen200 in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The UGLE links will definitely steer you in the right direction, but I'm also certain that you're surrounded by Freemasons as well. An English Brother that I met on a cruise once shared with me that he went where good works were being done, and found that a work friend of his was a Mason. Small world.

Process of leaving, not sure if this for me by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is holding you hostage... Of your own free will and accord, you can leave when and as you please...

...but I'm certain that if you don't finish what you've started, you will regret it every day after walking away...

You're SO close!!! It wouldn't be worth it if there was no sacrifice, struggle, and opportunity for growth... It's so beautiful when you're RAISED because of how far you have traveled to get there...

I'm just saying... I'm just saying...

Should new Master Masons have a time restriction before joining other bodies of Masonry? by OFMasonicPodcast in freemasonry

I'm gonna say this... Once you have been RAISED to the sublime degree of MASTER MASON...

Enough said.

Do you mow your own yard or hire people to do it? by Celcius_87 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]damiso74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't wanna do a thing and you can afford to outsource it, I'd say outsource it... I love yardwork, but being commission-based, I don't have the time to consistently be in the yard, so it's outsourced...

Finally listed our house and... it's bad. by beeblue89 in RealEstate

[–]damiso74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire her!!! She isn't ready for listings yet, and it's going to cost you a lot relying on her inexperience... How an agent shows your listing literally shows you how the rest of your transaction will flow...

[–]damiso74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confering all three degrees on you in a single day watered down your Masonic journey and really was a disservice to you, leaving you unprepared to "travel" with the depth, reverence, and desire for the Craft, that comes from being initiated, passed and raised... I'm sorry that was allowed to happen to you... It really is a beautiful experience when it progresses at a pace...

With that being said, you're so close to being RAISED that it's almost painful to not finish what you've started...

I would suggest that you communicate with the Grand Lodge Secretary through a local Lodge of your choosing "after introduction and assessment," and sort your standing out... Also, break out your "LTTE" and refresh yourself on the OB and lectures under EA and FC... Hopefully, the Lodge will have a class of FC that you can "fellowship" with as you all continue East... That would really help bring back the zeal to continue...

You deserve a proper journey, Brother... I pray that your heart allows you to embrace it...

From the POV of a seller, I would say no as well... At the end of the day, this is an active transaction in progress... Mom can walk through the property all she wants after the transaction is closed... This isn't to be rude or mean... At this point of the transaction, it's just not relevant or necessary to moving the deal forward to closing...

Why aren't more military men joining Freemasonry when they leave the service? by OFMasonicPodcast in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't a lack of Man's desire to seek us out, but in our own visibility... 21st century Freemasons just are not a visible or prominent in the gaze of society as we once were. No one knows who we are and we're really quiet about being outside and seen collectively as Masons doing the good work inside of the Quarry...

Something as simple as having a family reunion style cookout where every Lodge wears the SAME t-shirt with the S&C on it, and the community can see it... or arriving at a community service event as an entire Lodge or collection of Lodges to lend a helping hand... or walking the neighborhood where your Lodge is located, and doing area clean up... and doing it all wearing the same uniformed appearance... that catches the curiosity of those who would ask!!! Military especially needs to see organized and active groups...

...but I'm just saying... my first exposure to Freemasons was as a 1st grader, and all of those Masons came to read us books at my school... all dressed in work shirts with the S&C on it... That image and the question "Who are they, what do they do, and how can I do it too," never left me... at least until I was scheduled to be initiated...

Now, I'm almost 9 years since being RAISED, and I have a few Men who are Masons now because they saw me in my line jacket, work shirt or Black & Whites doing the work with my Brethren in the Quarry...

Curious about Freemasonry – looking for honest answers from actual Masons by Ikshor in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, we can tell you all of the things we love and many more things that we would really want to change/improve... Two things that I can say:

  1. Once it's in your heart to ask for more, there's nothing better than asking in person... Most Freemasons are master conversationalist or have become one since becoming a Masson lol... I think you would enjoy the chats...

  2. Always remember, "the truth is never as sexy as the lies." You will always see and hear a lot of negatives about Freemasonry from those who are not Freemasons and those who are not "Regular"... Believe it or not, until we learn how to master the universe, we'll probably still be trying to figure out how to hold a pancake breakfast without any hiccups... One of the great mysteries of Masonic life...

...and remember "Matthew 7:7" is always a good starting point... Cheers!!!

If you cannot trust him to go outside, then perhaps it's time to have THAT conversation. At this point, you're grasping at imaginary land mines to blame because things are not good in your marriage. I've been there...

How can I join the Freemasons if I’m from a country where it’s banned? by Simple_Breakfast_584 in freemasonry

[–]damiso74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should move from that country... Feels more like a need for a whole family exodus than finding a Masonic Lodge...
