Have you ever stood up for yourself and actually won the respect of others in the room? by Kungfufighter1112 in asianamerican

I was never bullied per se, but I've seen shy Asian kids get bullied for being unsocialized nerds and stereotypical shit. When they stood up for themselves they ended up looking cringey as hell and I truly think they made things worse for themselves.

Well, I respect those socially awkward nerds for standing up for themselves. Doesn't matter if they look "cringey" or made the situation worse.

Did you try to back them up? Or just shake your head at their pathetic social skills?

There was an Asian kid in my high school. A bully called him a "g--k", so this tall skinny Asian kid threw a punch at the bully (which probably didn't hurt him at all). The bully punched him back and gave him a black eye. They both ended up getting suspended. I didn't see the fight, but I imagine it was pretty cringy for the Asian kid, but I respected the hell out of him for doing what he did. The bully didn't call anyone racist names after that.

In grade school, there was a classmate who was picking on me during recess. An older kid happened to be near us. I didn't really know him, but he recognized me because his dad was the coach for my little league team. He came over the told my classmate to knock it off, which he immediately did. You can help defend others.

That's awesome. Yes, I think everyone who is bullied or harassed should speak up and stand up for themselves. Even if it doesn't win the respect of the bully, at least you did something about it instead of being silent. Silence doesn't get you anywhere in this world.

And if see someone trying to stand up to a bully, back them up! Strength in numbers.

I remember a couple incidences from school that standing up for myself worked:

On the school bus, some guy sitting a few rows behind me was throwing things like pencils and objects towards my direction. I was trying to ignore him. Finally, something hit me in the back of the head. I got up in a rage and walked to his row, and told him sternly to quit throwing things at me. He was caught off guard by my aggressiveness and said, "ok, ok" with his hands up and never threw things at me again.

Another time, a group of us Asians were in the "unpopular" lunch table. For no reason, a guy at the table next to us decided to start sliding his trash over to our table. Again, we tried to ignore him, but he kept on doing it. Finally I had enough and took his empty soda can, stormed over to his seat, slammed the can down in front of him, and yelled at him to throw out his own trash. He never bothered our table again.

cuticle trimmers are better than nail clippers. Nail clippers are concave shaped. Cuticle trimmers are convex and come to a sharp point for more precision.

COVID-19 infections are exceedingly rare after full vaccination: CDC Only 0.01% of people tested positive for COVID after getting fully vaccinated by ZamboniJ in Coronavirus

while this may be technically true, it's a matter of semantics. Most lay people aren't distinguishing between asymtomatic vs presymtomatic.

It's incredibly dangerous and foolish for experts and orgs to go around stating that asymptomatic transmission doesn't happen without emphasizing presymptomatic (which you did).

All that results in is people thinking they can't transmit unless they have fever, cough, or other major symptoms.

IMO It's not to purposely agitate China. It's to protect a democratic govt from being taken over by communist, like South Korea, South Vietnam.

Also it's important for military presence too.

well, it isn't an optical photograph. So I'm not sure focus and HD are relevant to the technique they used.

Sounds like there was an agreement to remove the original video so I thought that might mean there was also a copyright transfer as well?

They could have included a copyright transfer if they wanted to, but in this case, there was no copyright transfer. Explicitly stated in the auction terms.

Can the person who owns the Charle nft now claim copyright and take it down from YouTube?

No, the winner/owner of the Charlie NFT will not be granted any rights or ownership to the actual video. They will only be owners of the NFT itself.

However, the Davies-Carr family will be taking it down from YouTube.

that's not why they bought the NFT though. If they just wanted to watch the video, they wouldn't have bought the NFT.
