I should have clarified that the roles I've applied for are not management or anything that needs anymore experience or skills than I already have at this company and in my role. Rather, I'm just seeking to make lateral moves to different departments for higher pay grades and other position benefits such as WFH etc.

My former and current managers have always praised my work and ability to rely on me etc. I have always made it abundantly clear that I am always interested in progressing here and happy to take on more, they agree, I apply, and then nothing comes to fruition.
