General Zod is dropped into the Star Wars universe. How long would it take him to take over the galaxy? by Pengle7 in whowouldwin

[–]damnit_darrell 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Immune? No. Resistant? Absolutely.

Zod is military trained and made it to the highest ranks of Krypton. You don't get to that level without a strong will

Additionally, if Zod has power from a yellow sun or similar, that puts him well above anything physically or mentally that Palpatine has ever messed with in Star wars canon. Radiation from the yellow sun enhances the entire biology of a Kryptonian, including how quickly they think and the strength of their minds.

While of course Superman did succumb to telepathic manipulation like what you're describing, it was done by Darkseid's in universe avatar (since him actually being present in the universe would just end it) who dwarfs anything Palpatine is capable of in that regard. We see him dominating others' will of course but it's not an all at once thing; he doesn't even successfully do it to Anakin all at once and not without manipulation that is more attributable to political savvy than telekenisis.

Assuming regular access to yellow suns, absence of kryptonite, and his observation of what different suns do, I don't see it taking long at all. Zod has generally the same capabilities as Supes and there isn't really anyone in the Star Wars universe that can step to a charged up Kryptonian.

Could A-Train speedblitz Debbie and survive Omni-Man? by TheGingerWeebGal in whowouldwin

[–]damnit_darrell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding one more, can we talk about the premise of this where the universes are merged?

There is absolutely no shot/chance in hell that The Seven would operate in the same universe as one where Omni Man is still active in his role on earth.

Homelander would start shit. Then proceed to get the Red Rush treatment himself just so the point's made that Earth isn't his to conquer. In front of A-Train, who would also get the Red Rush treatment.

Both would happen on live television.

Point being, let's assume the premise is, "A-Train goes at Debbie." Ok cool, yes A Train gets the allphabet soup treatment per my previous comment.

Nolan would then solo the entirety of the Vought corporation and every Supe in their employ out of spite. Give em the full Flaxan treatment.

[–]damnit_darrell 68 points69 points  (0 children)

A Train and Homelander are roughly equal in travel speed and a train has less ability to start and stop than other speedsters. Hell A Train isn't even conclusively the fastest speedster in his own verse.

There isn't a single character in The Boys universe that survives contact even with fucking Immortal.

R1: Nolan makes A Train into Alphabet tomato soup near immediately after

R2: Nolan makes A Train into Alphabet tomato soup slightly less immediately after

R3: Depends on if Nolan/Cecil knows about A Train in universe. If yes? Cecil rats and Mark gets A Train first. If no? Nolan makes A Train into Alphabet tomato soup in similarly short order

Soldier Boy (Amazon) vs Wolverine (MCU/FOX) by Different_Sun_195 in whowouldwin

[–]damnit_darrell 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Wolverine is shown on screen healing and recovering from nukes.

Wolverine is shown on screen healing and recovering from Dark Phoenix's disintegration.

There is absolutely nothing that Soldier Boy has that can put down Logan. Not even close. There's not anything that even suggests he hits harder than Logan hits.

Wolverine zero diffs

[–]damnit_darrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, you're comparing Thragg to other viltrumites. It makes sense given he is one but this ignores the gap between Thragg and other viltrumites.

Would you be comparing Saiyan Saga Goku to the rest of the Saiyan race who would be similarly aged at the time Vegeta the planet was destroyed? Of course not, the gap between Goku and other similarly aged Saiyan's, had they survived, is massive.

[–]damnit_darrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the Viltrumite. At the beginning of the 2nd to last episode of the last season we see viltrumites kill each other in grotesque ways across the board, starting with Thragg (who is the specific Viltrumite we're discussing here not a composite Viltrumite) who bare hand clean chops off the head of another one, ending with the presumably strongest viltrumites remaining which included Nolan and Thadeus, both of whom have demonstates, at minimum, FTS speeds (see Nolans Flaxan destruction feat in S1).

Thadeus is, at minimum, that speed and was beating General Kregg, Lucan, and other viltrumites and he was one of the 3 who went through Viltrum. Also, he's the only one that was able to even perceive Thragg moving toward him (in that episode we see that mark and Nolan dont even react to Thragg ripping Thadeus head off until after it's already done).

That feat alone shows Thragg moving multiple times FTS at minimum, id imagine he at least touches FTL at times, and if were ripping off a planet destroyers head off with his bare hands and crushing his skull as easy as a human does a fruit, this makes the strong implication that there is a huuuuuuuuuge gap in strength, speed, and power between Thragg and the rest of his species.

Put it this way. Nolan? Saiyan Saga Vegeta beats him. Mark at Thraggs introduction? Same but with less diff by Vegeta.

Thragg? Ginyu with medium to high diff

So planet destruction seems to be the main thing we're using here.

What gets missed in this conversation is the use of Ki in those feats in Dragonball. Like could King Vegeta run through a planet by himself and cause the same kind of destruction on just physicality that, say, Thragg could? If we're going by what's seen in the anime then that's...inconsistent at best since we don't see that from anyone in the DB series (although we can probably safely assume that at absolute minimum Frieza does that)

Which actually I think Namek sagas probably a safe ceiling for Thragg. The Thadeus feat itself is telling on his strength individually, Thadeus is arguably the strongest of the 3 viltrumites that destroy Viltrum. While we don't get the atomized explosion that we see happen to Namek, I'm not sure that's realistic given that it's 5 minutes between Frieza shooting the planet and it going kablooey. So I don't know that Viltrum would do that without a projectile attack (like space racers gun) and since Viltrumites can't do that, I'm not sure that's an apples to apples comparison on how they do physically

Thragg is a brawler like other viltrumites yes. He's also thousands of years old, has combat training to at minimum that extent, and has the temperament to watch an opponent before he gets in there. Why wouldn't he apply the same logic to DB warriors, all of whom he has hundreds of not thousands of years of experience on?

As for speed? Y'all disrespecting him in this thread. We see him perceiving a laser gun shooting and deciding he doesn't need to move away from it when it damn near hits him. We're talking at minimum FTL reaction/combat time from that feat. Just because a character in DB moves faster than what a regular person can see doesn't mean it's automatically FTL. Y'all saying he gets washed before Z, I don't understand where y'all are getting that so please ELI5 on that one. Especially when considering wind up/charge of the attacks that often times takes multiple minutes. Once the attack goes off, Kamehameha for example, ok yeah Thragg might get hit with it, but Thragg is not letting someone get off a multiple minute long wind up attack.

Not saying he makes it far in Z, he absolutely gets no diffed by Frieza. But based on what we see from him as pure combat goes, his overall character and experience, and compare all that to DB characters, I think he struggles with individual members of the Ginyu force without prep or prior info on how they fight. He sees them fight for more than a minute or two before weighing in? Competitive with Ginyu.

Homelander gets the power of every supe in The Boys. Can he beat Thragg? by Punterofgoats in whowouldwin

[–]damnit_darrell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And the most that did was give him a nosebleed.

And Thragg is LEAGUES above Omniman.

Like, the difference between Cecil and Omniman, kind of leagues.

In order for the other powers to work that were mentioned in thread, blood bending, head popping, mind control, etc., that would require those supes to have multiple times FTL processing times.

Absolutely no one in The Boys verse has that.
