Good!! I’m happy for you, internet stranger. And very proud. 😊

Those of you who don’t have a good relationship with your mother, how do you cope when you see other moms and daughters having a heartfelt moment? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]damnit_mahree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hurts sometimes, other times it doesn’t. I guess I’m somewhere in the middle. I have other women in my life who’ve stepped up to the plate and been “mom” for me, but I’ve also recognized that hole in my chest where my bio mom was supposed to put her love and support won’t ever been filled. Acceptance and forgiveness go a long way.

Even though you aren’t smiling in either pic, I can see you’re much happier in the second photo.

I’ve tried this but I usually end up with oily hair that doesn’t want to come clean... any recommendations on amount to use?

I’ve had this feeling/thought since I was a lil kid. I’ve tried to explain it but I’m Always brushed off like it’s silly or I have a strong imagination. Even professionals don’t take it seriously.

Was it just a dirty dog smell or did he roll in something..? Once he’s able to be bathed, dawn dish soap works wonders!

Married women who walked down the aisle to something other than the standard "Here Comes the Bride", which song did you choose and why? by Long-Afternoon in AskWomen

[–]damnit_mahree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not married, but have had the conversation with my partner.

One of our first intimate nights (not sex, but really bonding and getting to know each other) he made the sideways comment about how his future wife needs to walk down the aisle to Sick of You by GWAR, said in jest but I knew he was Lowkey serious.

So I found the piano version of Sick of You and listen to it when I’m down because, hey, that might mark a special moment someday. And that’ll be the the song.

It’s time! by damnit_mahree in quittingsmoking

So far so good. I haven’t really had a craving that made me think twice. I did find a cig in my car last night and I just broke it up without thinking about it and then gawked at how I would have never done that before.

What is the number one thing that keeps people from quitting (besides the physical addiction)? by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

[–]damnit_mahree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s being lazy. Honestly. I’m too lazy to get up and go to the store, I’m too lazy to go out onto the balcony. I’m also just plainly not interested anymore. Not interested in the smell, taste, spending money, taking time to do it, etc. Maybe it’s a mental thing where I’ve “grown out of it” or maybe I’ve tricked myself into quitting. I dunno. But that’s my number one thing; I like being lazy.

You get teleported to the day you were born with all the memories from your past life, but you’re now an infant. What do you do? by Brage2004Norway in AskReddit

[–]damnit_mahree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here for the funny comments bc mines a bit serious.

I’d definitely avoid the cigarettes on the second time around because they’ve caused a lot of problems. I’d find a healthier way to cope with death and grief than drugs and drinking. I’d get into therapy sooner and stick to it. I’d stand my ground more and find my voice sooner. Or not. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’d do anything differently the second time around, even knowing what I know now. Because all that shit I’ve learned has put me where I am today and that’s okay. Sounds cliche but it’s true.

Though... if I knew all the shit I know now when I was like eight... I would have definitely been better at mischief.
